GOAL 1: Research

Choice A:

“Intro video”

- Watch the Intro video (9:06) and pause and discuss as needed. The video covers important historical, geographic, and cultural aspects of Argentina.

“Provinces”

- Open the link to the Argentina provinces map and click a province such as Cordoba. Browse through the resources and explain that there are similar resources for each province on the map.

(Records Section)

“Records and Resources video”

- Watch the Records video (8:52) and pause and discuss as needed. The video explores essential Argentine records and how to find them

“FS: Record Finder”

- Browse the Record Finder and discuss the categories of records and which to use for different objectives.

“FS: Military Records”

- Summarize the first two paragraphs for background on Argentina military records.

- Mention the bullet points for the military archives in Argentina.

- Mention each of the bold headings in the article for further study.

“FS: Notarial Records”

- Summarize the first paragraph to provide background on notarial records.

- Briefly review the first list of bullet points that describe the types of records.

- Briefly review the second list of bullet points that describe sources for notarial records.

Choice B:

“FS: Genealogy Word List”

- Click the Info button to show the categories of words.

- As an example, click the Key Words link and review a few of the entries; then scroll through the list.

“FS: Naming Customs”

- Mention the Online Tools links. These refer to the BYU Script Tutorial, the Behind the Names site, etc.

- In Surname Customs and “de (of) …” review and discuss the bullet points.

- Also review Given Names and Name Endings.

GOAL 2: Archives and Libraries

Choice A:

“FS: Argentina Archives and Libraries”

- In National Archives mention the General Archive contact info, and then briefly review the bold items in the bullet points.

- In Provincial Archives click the “Table” link. Then click one of the pins on the map (such as 18) to show the available archives.

- Briefly describe the resources in each of the bold headings.

“Guia Genealogica”

- In the web page, click one of the City Archives to show resources.

- Scroll through the rest of the page to show additional archive and library resources.
