�Mechanical System �Replacement - VHS�

• Scope includes replacement of all “original” HVAC equipment installed prior to 2007, much was original to 1956 and 1975.
• Project addresses IAQ concerns in common areas, classrooms and main office along with upgrades to equipment and controls in classrooms. Energy efficient equipment and controls will be installed.
• Due to the extensive engineering involved and the difficulty of executing this work during the school year, mechanical work will be executed primarily in the summers of 2015 and 2016.
• AMCO Mechanical is the Contractor and work is on schedule.

Bleacher Upgrade Project

• The old gym bleachers were completed by refinishing the fir boards that were collected from both gym’s bleachers, sanded, repaired, refinished, installed with new hardware and ADA compliance.
• The new gym estimated completion date is the beginning of October 2015 because awaiting new bleacher seating that will be installed as soon as they are delivered.

• Installation began September 14, 2015.

VHS BACKUP GENERATOR

• Generator will serve critical components of Verona HS including;
• Main Server Room, Boiler Room, Kitchen Equipment, and Emergency Lighting
• Unit is in production. The delivery date is approximately the end of October 2015 and completion is approximately end of November 2015.

Fire Panel Replacement

• Replace existing fire system panels at FN Brown and Forest Ave School. Both systems were antiquated and obsolete.
• Scope consists of replacing panels and end devices while still utilizing existing wiring.

��Technology Upgrades District��

• Project includes network replacement which includes a switch count to allow for future growth, wi-fi access points throughout the district, phone system replacement at VHS, a back-up generator at VHS and cabling for both technology and security purposes.
• Security plan includes 120 cameras (district wide), 29 card reader/access control locations and a web-based management system to integrate all components.
• Visitor management systems at 8 locations:
• Each schools Main Entrances, the Board Office and Laning Pre-School Entrance.
• Work related to technology improvements will be completed in 2015.

��Security Upgrades�District��

• Project includes the creation of secure vestibules at each school, office reconfiguration at VHS, FNB and Forest. Also includes a security camera system, visitor management system, and enhanced access controls.
• Installation of technology based hardware (cameras, etc) is largely complete and construction work for vestibules is 95% complete.
• Until our new system is installed, we are continuing our visitor procedures as we had last year so our schools continue to be safe.

• Phase 1 is construction of the vestibule which has been completed. In the process of

phase 2 which is adding upgraded door strikes, buzzer system and isonas card readers

for staff to the security vestibules.

�� Multi-Purpose Field & Site Improvements at VHS��

• Engineering firm, French & Parrello Associates, is in the process of developing a full site plan for the Verona Planning Board’s review on September 29, 2015. Phase 1 for tennis courts and parking has already been submitted and is awaiting a review date.
• The full site plan for the upper and lower fields are nearly complete. The plans are with our attorney and engineering firm and we anticipate submitting them in the coming weeks.

�Energy Savings �Improvement Program�

Some highlights of the program include:

• LED lighting district wide will begin installation approximately October 19, 2015.
• New, High Efficiency Boilers at Laning ES will be completed approximately October 9, 2015.
• Upgraded Boiler Burner Controls at 5 schools
• Upgraded BMS at 5 schools
• Vending and Computer Miser systems
• Other ECM’s including steam trap replacement and building envelope improvements, etc.

• Other Operating Budget Projects besides Forest are:
• HBW science classroom renovation to begin December 2015 during school closing.

��Summary��

• Masonry Repointing Project tentatively will be bid in January 2016.
• Kitchen renovations will take place in summer of 2016. This is due to no bidders for the first bid that took place in May 2015. The second bid was not until the end of June 2015 which caused time constraints for the project to be completed in the summer of 2015.
• All projects have an anticipated completion date of September 2016.
• The Town’s Construction Official has been very cooperative in allowing work to progress unimpeded and work is progressing on all awarded projects although some delays have been experienced with regards to plan review for tennis courts and fields.
• Long lead times on certain pieces of equipment will impact completion dates on certain HVAC components.
• Given the diverse nature of the projects and the ability to implement certain aspects, completion dates for the various components will be spread across this 2 year period.
• Various trades are cooperating to keep projects moving.
