Instructions

  • Choose an image of a Durban building from the links in this presentation OR from your own research OR own photograph
  • Print the image (You may want to edit the image first or change it to greyscale if you are working in graphite)
  • Work from this image to create your drawing on A4 paper (landscape/portrait)
  • You may use graphite, pen, fineliner, pencil crayon (please ask your teacher before using any other medium).
    • You can use just 1 medium or use mixed media.

  • It must be an exterior view of a Durban building.
  • Choose a single building or part of a building.
  • Along with your drawing, you must also hand in your printed image & a separate research page.
  • Your research will include:
    • The name of the building. Try and find out who built it and when this was done.
    • The style or period it was from. Your teacher will help you with this & show you how to write about a building.
  • Remember to write your name, surname and class on everything you hand in.
