What types of food you know
We can divide food into 3 main types: organic food, GM food and traditional food of different countries. Organic food is produced by using farming methods without chemicals. It includes not only fruits, vegetables and seafood but also cheese, meat, wine, tinned food, baby food and even pet food. Organic food is becoming very popular nowadays.
Genetically modified food is food that has been changed so that their genes structure is different from the one they have naturally. For example, now we can eat GM flour, oil, and vegetables like carrots, tomatoes, corn, cucumbers and others.
Traditional food is food that is traditionally eaten in different countries, for example: Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Russian and Italian. Each cuisine has its own peculiarities. For example, seafood, fresh fish, sushi and wasabi are typical for Japanese food. Mexican food is usually spicy with scones tomatoes and sauces. Nowadays there is a great variety of traditional restaurants from different countries where you can choose the food according to your taste
What is meant by the term “healthy eating”
From my point of view healthy eating means following some rules. Our eating habits affect how we feel during a day.
To start with, we should eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. They are rich in vitamins and minerals which are extremely important for good health. Furthermore, we should eat dairy products every day. Types of food in this category, like milk and cheese, have lots of calcium and vitamin D. These two elements protect our bones and teeth. Moreover, meat, fish, eggs and nuts help our body in order to grow and remain strong and healthy and they are good for our muscles and nerves. What is more, bread and grains are necessary for us. They contain carbohydrates, fibre, iron and provide our body with heat and energy.
Also, I think that we should eat less fast food. Although it is tasty, fast and cheap, it isn’t always healthy. Doctors say that chips and pizzas are fattering, Coca - Cola spoils our teeth. Junk food, like hamburgers and fried fast food, contains a lot of sugar and fat and can cause serious problems with health.
Healthy eating will make you feel full of energy. The secret is that when you feel good, you look good!
What your attitude to genetically modified food is
Genetically modified food is food that has been produced by changing its genes structure. The articles about GM food get into the news nowadays. Basically, scientists manipulate the DNA structure of plants and animals to produce more food or improve resistance to diseases. The world’s population is growing very fast, so to feed people farmers have to grow more genetically modified crops. However, scientists are not sure if GM food is absolutely harmless or not. A recent study found that the pollen of genetically modified corn can kill the eggs of the monarch butterfly. Many people are not happy about these developments. Personally, I try not to buy and eat GM food as there is no scientific conclusion so far to prove its safety for our health. We don’t know what the long - term effects can be. That is why I prefer not to risk my health.
What type of food you prefer: organic or genetically modified, give your reasons

However, we don’t know the long – term effect of GM food and are not sure if GM food is harmless for our health. That is why I prefer organic food. This means that pesticides and additives are not used in the production process. Organic food includes fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat, wine, tinned food and even pet food.
Organic foods often have more useful nutrients, it is healthier and tastier. As organic produce contains fewer pesticides it is good for people with allergies to foods. Organic food is often fresher because it doesn’t contain chemicals that make it last longer.Organic farming is better for the environment. Organic farming practices reduce pollution. Farming without pesticides is also better for nearby birds and animals as well as people who live close to farms.
That is why, I am for organic food.
