Welcome to GAVIÃO

... a small town in the North of Alentejo, which is a Portuguese region.

Firstly, we are very happy to welcome you to our country, to our town and, above all, to our school. We are very happy to have you here and so we welcome you with open arms and we will make sure that you have a week that you will never forget!

The hosting families will treat you as if you were their own children and everyone at school will make you feel at home.

We are all delighted to have you here!

OUR TOWN, GAVIÃO

Our town, Gavião, is small but welcoming and it has many funny activities to offer and also many interesting places to visit.

Old churches

and chapels

Two museums, the Soap Museum and the Blankets Museum

The Belver Castle, which is really old but very beautiful

Walking routes, in the middle of nature

The Alamal river beach, where we can swim or go for a boat ride

And the

Eco Laguna,

a sand

swimming pool, which only opens in summer

Here, in Gavião and in Alentejo, the food is delicious, and we also have traditional music, called “Cante Alentejano”.

We love living here!

OUR SCHOOL

Our school

is small but

very nice.

We have many activities, many projects and also several clubs, like the Robotics Club, Living Science Club and the Radio Club

We also have a school radio,

a very nice library and

a classroom of the future.

During breaks we can

play table football…

… or play snooker.

Outside there is a vegetable garden

and also the school´s pets:

two little goats.

In our school we are a family.

Our teachers are friendly and care about us.

It is a place where we learn but also where we live and care for each other.

We live together respecting and valuing our differences

that make us unique.
