Modifications

  • What is taught changes.

  • Standards and rubrics are adjusted to a developmentally appropriate level.

  • This happens in a traditional grading system, too.
  • Examples:
    • Fewer standards assessed
    • Different reading used
    • Different rubric used

  • Two meetings for teachers to discuss their questions and concerns

  • Reading and research, ranging from books to teacher pilots in the 2022-2023 school year

  • Consultation with the Director of Special Education at a school that has implemented a similar grading system for five years
