Deadline:

9
Forming a Roommate Group
Once you have your lottery designation and lottery number, you can begin to form a roommate group in MyHousing. There are some traditional single spaces that will be available during the selection process. However, most on-campus housing options are part of a suite or apartment OR are traditional doubles, triples, or quads. This means almost all lottery participants will need to build a roommate group.
The number of students (including yourself) in your roommate group needs to match the number of beds in the type of room you wish to select:

As Stacy Lynn and Robin build their roommate group, MyHousing will indicate whether or not the group is FULLY MATCHED or UNMATCHED. Every student in the desired roommate group must request/accept each other as roommates. Below are screenshots showing the difference between a FULLY MATCHED roommate group and an UNMATCHED roommate group.
*Everyone in the group must also have a FULLY MATCHED group in MyHousing by selection night. Do not leave roommate requests pending.

Available Rooms:
MyHousing will only show you rooms available to your lottery designations and that match the number of people in your roommate group. If you do not see any rooms listed, then there are no available rooms that match the size of your roommate group. Should this occur, your roommate group will need move on to your back-up plan. It is highly recommended that every roommate group have a back-up plan should your first room type preference not be available at your selection date and time.

Room Booking:
After selecting an available space, MyHousing will direct you to the Room Booking page. In this section, you will need to confirm which student in your roommate group will be assigned to each available bed. MyHousing will auto-assign the students in your group but you will be able to make changes as desired using the dropdown menu. The assignment is confirmed only once the “I Agree - Submit My Room Selection” button has been clicked.

For students without a roommate group:
If you do not form a roommate group, at your individual selection date and time, MyHousing will only display available rooms that match a roommate group size of 1 (traditional singles). Opus and Millennium Halls are NOT traditional singles. If you do not see any options in Available Rooms, this means that all the traditional singles in your lottery have been previously selected.
At the end of the lottery once all lottery numbers have had an opportunity to select a room assignment, the “must fill” hold will be lifted and remaining students without a room assignment will have the chance to individually select a space in a multi-occupancy room with the understanding that roommates will be assigned by Housing Services.
