We believe that NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN, but we want to make OUR town EVERYONE’S town.

It takes the community to get involved and help their own. SHP provides the opportunity for Volunteers to do just that.

OUR HISTORY

SHP started in 2012 in a garage. Our initial focus was to build a bunk bed for someone in the community, but after searching Facebook for someone to find, the community reacted.

Seeing the joy on the faces on the children that helped build the beds to the children that we served, was priceless.

OUR HISTORY - THE FIRST DELIVERY

The first delivery was a memorable one. With Christmas fast approaching and the cold weather setting in, getting this little girl off the floor and into a warm bed was an indescribable feeling.

This is where a service project turned into the beginnings of a non-profit organization called Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

THE NEED

SHP has built over 265,000 beds and delivered over 256,000 beds, adding chapters to meet the needs of children.

SHP GROWTH

We built and delivered over 180,000 beds since in 2012.

Through the years we’ve added chapters to reach far more children, but bed applications continue to increase.

UNCOVERING A NEED

Numbers do not lie:

According to ongoing research and data gathered from 2018 to YTD, roughly 3% of the total population represent children sleeping on the Floor, couches or in uncomfortable situations

WHERE DO OUR DONATIONS GO?

Our donations go towards building, bedding, and delivering the beds. That includes all the lumber, bolts, materials, new bedding, and mattresses to give kids what might be their first bed ever.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a platinum-level GuideStar participant, demonstrating its commitment to transparency. The platinum rating is the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, a leading source of nonprofit information for donors and funders.

COMPLETING BUILD DAYS

• Funding – Budgeting for materials
• Location – Review and verify Build Day Requirements
• Volunteers – Schedule volunteers

BUDGETING FOR A BUILD DAY

• Determine the budget or number of beds desired
• Review the Sponsor a Build Day Program
• Work for material and bedding donations/discounts
• $250.00 / bed

BUILD DAY REQUIREMENTS

• We are a mobile operation
• Sufficient Space – 1800 SQ FT
• Minimum 4 Circuits of 110V Power
• Adequate Parking
• Restroom Facilities
