Evaluating The History & Evidence of Shincheonji’s Fulfillments

For most Shincheonji members looking at materials online is the same as inviting the devil. Many have even signed an oath never to eat from the “Tree of the knowledge of Good & Evil”, aka the internet. Without even reading, it’s been determined that all the information outside are lies and slanderous; and why wouldn’t it be If Shincheonji has the truth? But I hope that this might help whoever is willing to discern and whoever is willing to love truth, that they may be courageous within God.

I’ve spent years thoroughly studying and examining the doctrines of Shincheonji firsthand. Wanting to be “sealed” and serve God with full faith, I continuously studied and spoke to many members, lecturers and church leaders to understand what is taught. Shincheonji claims that ”the standard is the word & everything else is Satan’s poison”. But can truth be found in a place that thrives on ignorance? Did the disciples teach believers to avoid disagreements and arguments? Is the word of God independent of reality? Are we not victims of our own arrogance if we willingly close our eyes to the evidence that is given to us?

Introduction- History of Betrayal, Destruction, Salvation taught by Shincheonji �[1966 – 1984]

*Because the details of their story have changed many times over the 40 years of Shincheonji’s ”official” establishment (some material evidence and sources will be provided in this report). The summary will be based on the current history taught to members and students in recent years.

Summary

• On Feb 17 1966, 8 people from Hosaeng Prayer Center (a religious sect) gathered in the attic of Yoo In-Gu’s home. On that night, God spoke and anointed the 7 messengers + 1 (Shin Jong-hwan/Moses) . They were given spiritual names and were told to go to Mt Cheonggye to be trained by the Holy Spirit for 100 days. These are the 7 messengers who have been taught in truth (Parables) to testify and prepare the way for Jesus’ coming. If they kept the covenant for 3.5years this would be fulfilled through them. The “tabernacle of the 7 golden lampstands” founded after their training. ��Following the pattern of “double sin”
• they sinned by kicking out their God appointed leader “Yoo in-gu/Immanuel”– Yoo Jae Yeol takes over as leader. As a result of their betrayal God punishes (judges) them through the Gentiles (Destroyers)—
• During their judgment, they accepted false doctrines taught by Mr. Oh (evangelized by Yoo jae Yeol in 1975) and SEC (carrying out a cult cleansing movement appoint by President Chun 1980) & refused to repent even after receiving Jesus’ letters sent by LMH from 1979-1981 (rv1:19-20, rv2-3). Their lamps/light taken away (Rev2) when the Church sign changed on Sept 14^th, 1980 to “Isaac Presbyterian Church”– accepting the “Teachings of the Nicolaitans (Rev2)”, hiding among the ”Caves, mountains, rocks (Rev6)”, this is the start of the 3.5 years period of destruction (period of fighting and overcoming the Nicolaitans, group of destruction) until Mar 14 1984.
• All 7 messengers left the church. By oct 1981, Yoo Jae Yeol fled to the “wilderness” prepared by God. Like Samson who “grounded at the mill in prison”(jdg16:21)--- the place YJY fled to was a “spiritual wilderness” producing the false teachings, a spiritual mill– That is Westminster Seminary school.

Period of Salvation

• March 14 1984 marks the beginning of salvation, where judgment is brought to Babylon (SEC & Tabernacle Temple) in “double portions”– 7 years until March 14 1991. Those who carried out the judgment are 7 bowls of wrath who were the male child and his brothers who fought and overcame Satan--- which is to overcome the false doctrines of the SEC. They judge by revealing to the people in the Tabernacle Temple and South Korea that they are false and finally causing their downfall (shutdown).

3 Versions of Photo Manipulation

Stars haphazardly placed onto the cantilevered roof (the horizontal roof that juts out above the front entrance). The star is placed unusually to covers the cross.���6. The windows are shattered on the second floor (1994 & 1995 version) as it was taken during the demolition of the church building.��Some members may consider that the stars might have been added in the latter years, which is why it didn’t appear in other photos.��However, in more recent textbooks (e.g. 2017 edition), a new image suddenly appeared with pristine windows. Except it is the same image that’s been doctored to make it seem like the 7 stars have always been there. �-> Notice the image is taken with the exact same angle, height, shadow casted by the star and the cantilever. Only the wall seems to appear cleaner, the image hue has been changed and the windows miraculously fixed.

��Why would it be necessary for someone to falsify images unless the intention was not to simply present facts but to convince people of an alternate reality. The 7 stars were never on the building it was created to persuade & sensationalize that this is place as the location of Revelation’s fulfillment.

The Main Tabernacle Temple church (Makgye-ri)

Plans to demolish this church was publicly made known and long preceded the SEC. What motive can a person have to infiltrate a church that will soon be torn down?

What profits or benefits are there to takeover the TT when it would soon be demolished and has been falling apart & losing members due to endless scandals and lawsuits (more on this later).

It’s illogical to think that someone motivated by power or greed to not instead takeover a thriving church. Or perhaps make use of their “political ties with soon-to-be President Chun” to gain the favor from local officials or even local church authorities to expand their Church.

The Tabernacle Temple was dismantled due to:

1. Investigations into internal crimes during President Park Chung-Hee’s era (4^th republic of Korea).
2. The arrest of Yoo Jae Yeol (head & founder of the church)
3. Being sold for the establishment of Seoul Grand Park.

One day- on the way to the Prayer Center, claimed that he saw a vision of Jesus as his eyes darkened. He dropped out of school and started to attend prayer center more diligently.

Kim Jong-gyu (head of prayer center) left for Gwacheon, YJY followed him but dropped after scandals of affairs with women.

Establishment of the Tabernacle Temple (TT)

<Concerning religious world” fulfillment textbook 3^rd ed>

1. Around 20 believers who had broken away from the Hosaeng Prayer Center (led by cult leader Kim Jong-gyu) gathered at Yoo In Gu’s house located at the intersection of Gwacheon to form a rally against their previous religious leader– calling Kim the “Abomination that causes desolation". Among them Yoo Jae-Yeol (Kim Jong-gyu’s former disciple in charge of security) with the help of his father established the TT and expelled Kim Jong-gyu (Nov 24, 1966).

1. It was claimed that On Mar 1, 1966 the sun followed Yoo Jae-Yeol. He suddenly collapsed after entering a room. And according to Yoo In Gu he received a vision that Yoo Jae Yeol received and ate the original scroll of the Bible that came down from heaven. According Yoo In Gu, there were “27 witnesses” present that day.

3. Yoo Jae Yeol & Yoo In Gu are the 2 witnesses sent by God [Rev11]

4. Afterwards, the witnesses enter the Temple at Mt. Cheonggye calling it the “Tabernacle of Testimony”: began full-scale evangelism activities after 6 months of prayer (April 4– Sept 24, 1966).

b. Prophecy: The End “war of Armageddon” will fulfill on Sep 14, 1969

(other accounts also mentioned the end being: Oct or Nov 1969, I’ll explain why Sept 14 is the most reliable).

Officially founding day is March 14, 1966, and they claim that 1260 days later, after the believers enter the Shelter built in the Valley of Mt. Cheonggye, the world will become a sea of fire.

Mar 14 1966 + 3.5 years= sept 14, 1969 . Afterwards, they will come out and become shincheonji (Rev 21) and the believers will become kings and rule each town.

Kicking out Father Yoo In-Gu

• Reason: Physically abusive father. Disagreement between father and son [appendix. Elder Kim's testimony]
• 1967 YJY Expels his father on the podium:

“My revelation and my father's revelation were the same before, but seeing that they are not the same now, there is no doubt that my father is receiving Satan's revelation." In other words, he expelled even his father, saying that he was possessed by an evil spirit”

• Two years later, Yoo In-goo, who returned to the tabernacle temple, was unable to see any revelations or visions and left again (1969-1970). (Passed away in 1984)
• Yoo Jae Yeol still claimed that his father and himself were the two witnesses recorded in the Book of Revelation.

Shincheonji’s Fulfillment:

Mr. Shin (Moses) kicked out Father Yoo due to jealousy that he wasn’t appointed as one of the 7 ”angels” even though he is more senior.

=> Yet Mr. Shin was in fact one of the 7 angels (wore a silver badge), and it was Yoo Jae Yeol and his faction who expelled his father (Not seen as an angel but King Immanuel) due to conflict.

Downfall of The Tabernacle Temple

Start of their downfall

1. October 1 1969 FAILED PROPHECY The world didn’t end & WW3 didn’t happen

1969-1970 Deserters: 3 Angels (Mr. Shin J.(Moses), Mr. Baek (Solomon), Mr. Shin G. (Joshua)), Father Yoo left again [returned briefly in 1969], and many followers gradually left the Tabernacle Temple because the prophecy failed. ---Verified by former members including the late Elder Kim who is 1 of 3 barleys from Shincheonji

2. Litigations: 1971 Lee Man Hee and other members filed lawsuits against YJY for over 40 allegations of fraud, abuse, embezzlement, Extortion etc. – Fig. (page 23, 24)

The end of Yoo Jae Yeol and the Church

1. On Sept 7^, 1975 Sentenced to 5 years in prison– Fig. (page 27). Early release in 1978 after appeal (reduced to 2.5 years prison sentence & 4 years probation) .
2. Dec 27, 1977 The Title Deed for the Tabernacle Temple (Land ownership in Gwacheon) was transferred to Seoul Metropolitan Government to construct a zoo for Seoul Land Park– Fig. (page 11), The tabernacle Temple building was demolished in 1980 – Fig. (page 7)
3. After Yoo’s Probation was over he transferred the Church’s ownership to Pastor Oh Pyeong Ho (Organization’s ownership) and left for America in Oct 1980 to pursue business.
4. Sept 1980- Remaining angels resigned: Jung Chang-Rae(Samuel) , Kim Young-ae (Dira), Kim Chang-do(Michael)

�Evidence of Arrest:

The Yeong Deungpo branch of the Seoul District Prosecutor’s Office arrested four people, Yoo Jae-Yeol (26), Kim Chang-do (41), the deacon, and the leader’s secretary, on charges of violating the Punishment Act such as fraud, ghosting, and violence, as well as making false accusations.

�According to prosecution: “Yoo created a pseudo-religious group, gathered about 2,000 believers and moved them together, built a tented church building and a luxury house of its own with the donations and efforts of the believers, and while building a branch church, not only hijacked the believers' houses, farms, and rice fields by mortgaging them, but also robbed the believers' factories and forcibly abused female members. Even before Yoo Jae-Yeol's arrest, the Temple of the Tabernacle was already hastening its decline. “ – Fig. (page 25)

Recently, a religious organization called "대한기독교장막성전교회" (Tabernacle Temple Church of Korea), led by its leader 유재열 (Yoo Jae-yeol), has been engaging in distorted preaching and proselytizing activities, associating biblical doctrines with ritualistic beliefs. They have been using various fraudulent methods to take away the possessions of believers and engaging in deforestation around their church areas. Some members have reported to the police that the church is a cult involved in adultery and sexual assault.

This religious group was founded in 1966 by 유 (Yoo) and his father 유인구 (Yoo In-gu), and they refer to their leader 유 (Yoo) as "군왕" (King). They gather over 2,000 followers and have established their church on the midsection of Cheonggyesan Mountain, relocating the group to the area, occupying 800 square meters of land for their "성전" (church), and building lavish houses for 유 (Yoo) with the funds collected from believers. 유 (Yoo) is said to indulge in pleasures such as luxury cars and entertainment, using the funds contributed by the followers.

Former members, like 崔 (Choi) and others, exposed the exploitative practices of the church. For example, 崔 (Choi) provided his house as collateral to help build the church's bell tower. However, 유 (Yoo) misused the funds and left the house to be auctioned off, causing significant financial losses. Similarly, 洪 (Hong) operated a factory near the Tabernacle Temple but was coerced by 유 (Yoo) and his assistant 林 (Lim) to hand over the factory to the church. When he refused, they threatened to ruin the factory.

In addition to financial exploitation, 유 (Yoo) reportedly engaged in sexual misconduct with female members, forcing them to endure verbal abuse and assault. Former church officer 김 (Kim) witnessed these actions and spoke out against 유 (Yoo). He also revealed that 유 (Yoo) deforested a significant number of trees illegally and misused the church funds for personal pleasures.

2. Claims Mr. Oh manipulated Yoo Jae Yeol to gain status and power in the tabernacle leading up to the event of the Church name changing to “Isaac Church” 1980. But Mr. Yoo was in prison for over 2.5 years 1975-1977 and had an additional 4 years probation period.
3. There was no church left to “destroy” & no one to send letters to “warn”: Only 3 messenger left in the church until sept 1980. Many members left after the failed prophecy 1969 and continued leaving due to Mr. Yoo’s arrest for fraud and embezzlement. Gwacheon church was also sold to Seoul Metropolitan for Seoul Land construction in 1977.
2. Mr. Oh & members of the SEC never heard of or met Lee Man Hee prior to Shincheonji’s growth.
3. No witness of Lee Man Hee ever ”sounding the trumpet” at the ordination ceremony (the events of receiving the mark of the beast); the SEC were not involved with the ceremony, nor did they have any authority to ordain pastors.

1. Joined the Olive tree movement 1956-1966. Joined another cult from 1978-1980, a year after Jesus supposedly anointed him “to go back to the TT to witness and write letters to the rebellious tabernacle of the 7 golden land stand”. He also joined another cult called “The Re-creation Church” led by former 7 messenger Baek Man Bong (Solomon).

2. Lee Man Hee and Mr. Hong In prison and under probation until 1981-1984. During the entire period of Destruction, he was ”spiritually dead”. When did he fight and overcome the group of the Dragon with his brothers?

3. Shintan (1984) was approved and sold for over 10 years. Even though it is now deemed as corrupt.

4. 1987 was the prophesied to be the final days when the 144,000 would be completed.

5. Claimed 144,000 are complete and covid is the great tribulation. Now back tracking in 2023, saying that he was duped by the tribe leaders.

6.Said that he would live forever. Now claims that he will pass away, that he wants to see the 10 declarations enacted into UN before he “goes”.

Lee Man Hee and The Olive Tree Movement

Lee Man Hee never fails to remind his audience that he has never received an education and never learned the word anyone except from God. Even though, as most leaders and older members know very well, he had been a part of The Olive Tree Movement (A hugely successful cult in the 1950s—60s with over 2million members at it’s peak). This used to be on the official Korean SCJ website but has been removed in the recent years. Yet, what’s lesser known and never admitted was his involvement with another cult called “The Re-creation Church” in 1978-1980.

Most SCJ members have been taught to think his involvement in the Olive Tree Movement doesn’t matter. Because they reason that past involvements with the wrong Church shouldn’t matter. The example misleadingly equated was Jesus’ involvement with the Jewish temples before his ministry, saying that Jesus was also a part of a “cult”. In addition, members are trained to think that his involvement was brief, and quickly ended after finding out that the church was corrupt, that’s when the spirit guided him to the Tabernacle Temple instead.

Then why claim he has never learnt from man? Why not be open about this fact if it’s even scriptural? And what about the Re-creation Church after he had been ”anointed” by Jesus?

3. I have heard from Mr. Lee Man Hee himself, including his friend Kim Taek, that he prayed for suicide due to an illness.
4. I joined Mr. Baek Man Bong's church through Mr. Lee Man Hee's evangelism, and Mr. Lee Man Hee was with me for about three years as one of the twelve apostles before he left on March 14, 1980.
