Outcomes 2026 to 2028:

• Summer Internships: 25 internships x $9,000/intern = $225,000 x 3 years = $675,000
• Programmatic Funding: $100,000/year x 3 years = $300,000

Annually meet with local and state elected representatives to highlight the healthcare workforce needs and allocate dedicated funding to address those needs.

1. Conduct Research to Support Advocacy Efforts: Research topics relevant to the Partnership that could benefit from advocacy at the local/state/federal level including:
2. Monitor and advocate for changes needed to the Medical Service Shortage Areas (MSSA) / HPSA designations that currently suggests there are no primary care shortage areas in SLO Cty.
1. Research innovative, state or national best practices to address the impact of broader community-level concerns on recruiting and retaining the healthcare workforce (i.e., SLO County cost of living, housing, and childcare). Examples:
1. Tax credits for healthcare employees
2. Affordable housing for healthcare employees
3. advocating for funding for healthcare workforce development
3. Identify and contact professional groups associated with physical, behavioral, oral, or public health providers that do healthcare advocacy.
4. Obtain and maintain a list of pending bills for advocacy from the offices of Senators Laird & Limon, Congressmen Carbajal & Panetta, Assembly Members Addis & Hart.
