INTRODUCTION

Even if you know that you can count on adults, educators and healthcare providers, most of the time your first reaction is to look online.

While searching for health information online can have its advantages, it can also introduce uncertainties and expose you to fake news.

So, where can we find reliable and up-to-date health information?

You tend to be looking for health information for many reasons but the most common are : school project, learning how to take better care of themselves, checking out symptoms.

Many research topic frequently emerge : Fitness and exercises, diet and nutrition, stress and anxiety, sexually transmitted diseases and puberty, depression, mental health and sleep

As you grow up and enter your teenage years, your concerns tend to evolve and that’s normal : you find yourself actively seeking for new information to better understand your body and environment. Also, your awareness on the societal heath situation tends to increase.

  • Social medias cans easily spread news but be careful about Fake news and double-check everything !

  • Website can afford basic informations but internet cannot replace parents and adults that bring humanity in the discussion. They will better reassure on certain topics.

  • There are reliable health information websites, such as government sites or support organization sites

Health brochures are available at your local hospital, doctor’s office or in community health center

These documents can provide basic information of different subjects or guide you to specific help center
