What do you need to make a successful Digital Breakout room using Google Apps for Ed?

• Google Docs - For Clues
• Google Drawings - For interactive display
• Google Forms - For breakout locks
• Google Sites - To hold your information

Google Docs

Create your clues

• Open a Google Doc.
• Create a clue by typing it out in the doc.
• Get the shareable link.
• Make the link viewable to your audience.
• Repeat for the amount of clues you want to create.

Google Drawings

Your interactive display

• Open up a Google Drawing
• Upload or copy and paste a picture you want to use for the interactive.
• Select “Insert,” then “Shapes” to make your interactive links.
• Once you make a shape select the link icon and copy and paste your doc clue link into the box.
• Next, make the shape and outline transparent.
• Finally, like the Google Doc, select the “Share” icon and make your drawing public on the web.

Google Form

The locks to your Digital Breakout Room

• Open up a Google Form
• Write your type of lock for the question (usually the title of the Clue Doc).
• Select the three dots in the bottom right of the question window.
• Click on “Response validation.”
• Select, if “Number” to “Equals to”
• If “Text” to “Contains”
• Finally, click “Required”
• Repeat for all your Doc Clues

Google Sites

The hub for all your information

• Go to sites.google.com
• Select “New Google Sites”
• Create a title for your site
• Add your tag for the breakout room
• Select “Insert Text”
• Add your information
• Add your Google Drawing
• Select “From Drive”
• Find your Drawing
• Add your Google Form
• Select “From Drive”
• Find your Form
• Publish your site
