Insight: �If we want to get more fans to watch AFCON 2023, why limit ourselves to football fans? �Why not go broader and tap into some of �the biggest fan bases on the planet?
Idea: �Countries participating in AFCON 2023 will recruit a 29th player to join their representing teams. The player will be a celebrity with African heritage who will take on a role in �their team of origin.
Execution: �We’ll announce the signing of these celebrities and their positions which will humorously reflect what they’re best known for. This will drive interest in these teams and in AFCON, from both fans of football and the �celebrities’ broader fan base.
What they lack in skill, they make for in passion. These are the celebrities that have made the cut for their national team in the upcoming AFCON tournament.
