Enviroschools - Litterless Lunches

What can we do to help? Litterless lunches!

A Waste-free lunch program favours the use of reusable food containers, drink containers, utensils, and napkins. They discourage the use of disposable packaging, such as prepackaged foods, plastic bags, juice boxes and pouches, paper napkins, and disposable utensils.

.

Why should we do this?

At our School we respect our Rangatira Tamaoho. He was a great protector of the land and this is what he taught his people. Becoming a waste wise school ensures we are actively living out his his values and beliefs.

What is a Waste-wise School?

A ‘waste-wise’ school is a school in which everyone works together to:

  • reduce waste,
  • reuse all possible resources, and
  • recycle what remains.

These actions conserve precious resources that promote a healthy environment and a sustainable lifestyle for all.
