When Are We Testing?

Thursday, Sept. 11th during student math classes

Friday, Sept. 12th can be used too.

Tuesday, Sept. 9th during student ELA classes

Wednesday, Sept. 10th can be used too

TEST DAY PROCEDURE - All Proctors

  1. Make sure all students have Chromebooks and headphones.
  2. Prepare environment (quiet and distraction free)
  3. Read script
  4. Standardization is important!
    1. Follow directions and preparation exactly
    2. This is a time to test, not teach
    3. Students should not practice ahead of time
    4. Errors should NOT be corrected during the assessment
  5. Actively monitor students testing

  • The green arrow will allow the student to move to the next question.

  • Lower right will display the item number the student is on, as well as the vendor assigned number of the question.
  • If student thinks the question is bad, record the test, the student name and grade and the item number and report the information to RET

  • A “Congratulations” screen will show at the end of the test
  • Students should click “Exit test

RED FLAGS

When teachers see a red flag on the Screening report screen.

  • The student can log back in & additional questions (up to 30) will be presented.
  • The student can be scheduled for a “make-up” test. (They may be given up to 30 additional questions)
  • If the SEM of the new questions is within criteria, the student’s ‘new’ score will replace the old “flagged” score and flow to reports.
  • If the SEM of the new questions is still outside of the accepted range, the student will receive a black flag, and scores will not be on reports.

DISPLAY ISSUES

  • Reload the page (Refresh)
  • Make sure the window is maximized
  • Set the zoom to 100%
  • Try another device
  • If there is an issue with a specific question, Dial 0 (Main Office)

  • Make sure the student is using the correct username & password. Remember passwords are case sensitive.
  • Retype the login information
  • Try another device
  • If the login still does not work - the student may not be set up correctly in Synergy - call main office

  • Students need charged Chromebooks
  • Students need headphones
  • Students log in and take assessment
  • Students need book to read or something to do when finished- not chromebook related
  • Students will need scratch paper and pencils for math test
  • Students will not need calculators
