What is a timeline?
A timeline is a diagram of related items or events displayed sequentially on a line.
Why use timelines?
Timelines are used to organize events in order by time, for example, by date.
Timelines are commonly found in biographies, informational texts, and personal schedules. Below is an example of a timeline showing dates from a person’s life in chronological order.
