Adenoma (Duodenum)

Duodenal tumors are rare lesions, but of these, adenomatous polyps are the most common type of duodenal tumor found. They are often found at the gastroduodenal junction. The risk of malignancy for these lesions parallels that of colonic adenomas, with villous histology being more concerning than tubular histology. Patients who develop duodenal adenomas in the background of FAP carry a higher risk of developing malignancy.
