Writing Goal- Recount Writing: writing about something that has already happened or that you have already done. *We loved seeing so many of your writing pieces. Keep up the great work, and please continue to share them with us! Writing: Please have your child write 3 sentences about a past event. For example, what they did on the weekend, what they did outside, a game they played etc. Focus on spelling word wall words correctly, sounding out unknown words, spaces between each word, capitals and periods. If your child is ready for it, please encourage them to add more detail to their sentences. |

The mice are lighter than the elephant. The elephant is heavier than the mice. The elephant has a greater mass. The scale is not balanced. The heavier object is on the lowered part of the scale because its weight is heavy and pushes it down.

If your child replies that it was the mouse ask if the boat would sink if it only had the mouse in it? Follow up discussion: Suppose there were only pigs or mice. Would it take more mice or more pigs to sink the boat? Why? |

We have created a challenge for you in Zorbits! Try the last two activities today. Log into https://play.zorbitsmath.com. If you forget your username or password, please email your child’s teacher. Once you have put the appropriate number of buckets to equal the mass of the missing slide, you then need to drag the green dot at the bottom to the same number. Then, click the checkmark. For example, if you put a pail with a 3, a 2 and a 1 the mass = 6. So you need to drag the green button to 6 then click the checkmark. |

Word Wall Word Work: animal brother favourite teacher people Be a Mind Reader Activity: You are going to try to guess which word wall word is the mystery word. Get a blank paper, chalk board, white board etc.List the numbers from 1 - 5 down the left side of the page. Read clue 1 and write a word wall word that matches the clue beside the number 1. Read clue 2. If your first word still matches the clue, rewrite the word beside number 2. If it doesn’t match the clue, pick a new word and write it beside the number 3. Continue writing a word wall word for each clue. We’ll post the answers next week! Clue 1 It’s a word wall word. Clue 2 This word has more than 2 vowels. Clue 3 It does NOT begin with a vowel. Clue 4 This word has only 2 syllables. Clue 5 This word ends with a vowel.
