WHAT IS FORGIVENESS?

  • Letting things go
    • Think about intent and WHY someone is doing what they’re doing
    • Is it impacting one individual or others

  • Forgiving and forgetting are different!

  • Use intellect - not every situation needs to be forgotten, know how to react
    • Giving someone second/many chance

  • YOU can make the best of the situation
    • Releasing your anger when something goes wrong
  • We often feel hurt when someone breaks our trust

  • It’s hard to regain trust and understanding

  • When trust is broken, our ego is impacted

  • “How dare they…!”

  • It ends up breaking or impacting relationships

LEARNING FROM OUR HISTORY & TEACHINGS

Aum

Bhur Bhuvah Svah

Tat Savitur Varenyam

Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi

Dhiyo Yo nah Prachodayat

Om

I meditate on OM, which covers the earth, consciousness, and the Divine

I meditate to the Sun, who is the essence of divine light, that which is loved

I meditate on the Diving energy to awaken my spiritual intelligence

This prayer teaches us to think beyond ourselves, we get trapped in our own ego, which stops us from forgiving others. By being more like the sun, who always gives, never takes, i can learn to be a more forgiving and understanding person.
