  • This is why service packs are so important and why you want to apply service packs first

Practice Scenario

  • Your are the budding IT officer at your local 999th Composite Squadron. Commander Bob has donated his PC to the squadron and your job is to secure it.

  • Make sure it has latest service pack and updates. Make sure windows update is configured. Make sure firewall is turned on. Make sure remote desktop is disabled w/in the firewall.

  • Squadron policy does not allow personal media files (music, pictures, video) so make sure any personal media files have been removed.

  • Squadron policy requires use of Internet Explorer version 10. All other browsers must be removed. Internet Explorer must be set as default browser
