Risk Management Requirements for Special Events in the

City of Hampton

SPECIAL EVENT REQUIREMENTS

• *We require a Certificate of Insurance AND an Endorsement Page.
• *We require limits in the amount of $1,000,000 for each occurrence with a $2,000,000 aggregate.
• *Depending on the event and your role in the event we may require excess limits in the amount of $2,000,000. (See application)
• *The City of Hampton must be listed as an additional insured.
• *The Certificate Holder will always be City of Hampton, 22 Lincoln Street, Hampton, Virginia 23669.

EXAMPLE OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE

The yellow highlighted portion of this Certificate of Insurance has important information.

The first section states:

This certificate is issued as a matter of information only and confers no rights upon the certificate holder.

​

The second section reads:

IMPORTANT: If the certificate holder is an ADDITIONAL INSURED, the policy(ies) must be endorsed.

​

This is the reason we require an Endorsement Page with the Certificate of Insurance.

• *An Endorsement Page can be accepted if it is a blanket Endorsement Page.
