Intro

My driving question was:

How can i make homemade custom mtg playmats?

Process

  • Create the designs in inkscape
  • get a membership at a makerspace and took a certification class so i could get access to a laser cutter’
  • spend an entire night cutting out the stamps and designs
  • Mark out where you want the paint to go using masking tape
  • Spray paint the parts you can, use fabric paint for the parts you can’t spray paint as well as the stamps

  • Laser cutter
  • ¼ inch baltic birch plywood (for the laser cutter)
  • 24 x 14 inch ultra pro blank playmats
  • Black krylon colormaxx
  • Jaquiers textile fabric paint(colors: black, blue, opaque white, red, dark green, colorless extender
