The Three Skills That Will Separate Average Graduates from Exceptional Ones

CYBER AWARENESS

AI FLUENCY

RELENTLESS EXCELLENCE

  • PREPARE YOURSELF FOR MOVING COOPERATION TO COMPETITION
  • DECIDE TO BE ONE AMONG OTHERS OR ONE SPECIAL FROM OTHERS
  • WHERE R YOU INVESTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY( EVEN THOIIGH MAY BE SMALL)
  • HUMAN MIND A RAW LAPTOP—WE HAVE TO UPLOAD SOFTWARES
  • Degree will get you interviews. Special skills will decide who gets the offer, who keeps the job, and who eventually leads
  • Generally, the graduates finish the syllabus and gets XYZ %/Division.
  • Exceptional ones finish the syllabus and SIMULTANEOUSLY build the habits the market actually needs.
  • Art of Communications- Strategic verbal and written mastery to communicate difficult task to COMMUNICATE.

The Gap – One need to identify and act

Same degree. Very different futures.

The Average Graduate

  • Waits for instructions before acting
  • Uses tools only when forced to
  • Treats security as "IT's problem"

The Exceptional Graduate

  • Spots risk early and acts proactively
  • Multiplies output with AI tools
  • Compounds small daily standards into large results

Two students can leave with the same Course. Five years later, one is replaceable and one is trusted with money, data, and decisions. The difference is rarely talent. It is the special skills.

Do Tech Leaders Limit Their Children’s Screen & Smartphone Use?

1

Steve Jobs

Limited technology use at home; his children reportedly did not use the iPad when it launched.

2

Bill Gates

Delayed smartphones until age 14 and restricted phone use at the dinner table.

3

Sundar Pichai

Spoken about delaying smartphone access for his son and creating friction around television/screen use.

4

Satya Nadella

Described parental controls and monitoring of movies, games, websites, and computer activity.

5

Mark Zuckerberg & Priscilla Chan

Encourage purposeful technology, but maintain boundaries around screen time and open internet exposure.

6

Elon Musk

Acknowledged that insufficient social media limits may have been a mistake and expressed concerns about algorithmic influence.

The lesson is not “technology is bad.” It is that even many technology leaders distinguish between purposeful technology use and unrestricted screen/social-media exposure.

Delay. Limit. Monitor. Educate. — Give children technology as a tool, not as a substitute for childhood.

ABOUT THE BOOK

AI for (Good) BAD for Humanity

“The defining question of our age is not what AI can do, but what it should do — and for whom.”

Written by Prof N. K. Goyal and Dr (Hon) Govind Pathak, the book confronts an uncomfortable truth: the same AI that can cure disease and lift economies can just as easily concentrate power, destroy jobs, and erode trust. It reframes every AI decision around four questions that determine who technology truly serves.

Who owns the data?

Who makes the decisions?

Who benefits?

Who gets hurt?

SECURITY OF AI IN THE PRESENT DAY

Why This Matters — To You

📈 Cases Nearly Tripled

Social-media cyber cases in India rose sharply 2020–2024: fake profiles, hacking, stalking, cyberbullying.

🎓 Students Are Targeted

Student data sold for fake fee, scholarship, and exam-portal scams. Education is heavily targeted.

📱 Your Favorite Apps

WhatsApp, Instagram, and Telegram top the list of platforms used in fraud complaints.

"Scammers don't need to be geniuses. They need you to be in a hurry."

Password Power 💪

❌ Bad Passwords

Name + birth year · "123456" · Same password everywhere

✅ Good Passphrase

Cricket!Rain42Mango — long, random, memorable

The Rules

  • Different password for email, Instagram, school portal, UPI apps
  • Turn on 2-step verification (OTP or authenticator app)
  • Never share password or OTP — not with friends, bank, or "school IT"

"password" and "123456" still appear constantly in hacker attack lists.

Phishing: The Trap That Looks Helpful 🎣

Fake Urgency

"Account deleted in 10 minutes" — Panic = mistakes

Too-Good Offer

Free skins, scholarships, cashback — if it's unbelievable, it isn't real

Sketchy Link

instagrarn.com (not instagram) — one letter off is the trick

Asks for OTP/Password

"Verify KYC" or "Board result link" — go to the official site yourself

Stop → Check → Verify → Report

Social Media Smarts 📸

✅ Do This

  • Keep your account private
  • Accept only people you know offline
  • Hide school name, location, and uniform in posts

🚫 Never This

  • Share live location, home address, or phone in bio
  • "Check-in" at home
  • Post school uniform with the school gate visible

"Delete is not erase. Screenshots live forever."

WhatsApp & Instagram Traps ⚠️

1

"Send me the OTP — my app is stuck"

A "friend" from a new number. It's not your friend.

2

Fake Profile of a Classmate or Teacher

Copied photo, slightly different username. Always verify offline.

3

"Free Game / Notes APK — Install This"

Unknown APK = No. Always. No exceptions.

4

Group Link → Asks for Money or Details

Call the real person on a known number before sending anything.

Cyberbullying, Morphing & Pressure

Recognize It

Mean comments, fake accounts, edited photos, pressure to share private images

Don't Forward

Never share someone's private photo "as a joke" — it causes real harm

Block → Screenshot → Tell

Report on the app and on cybercrime.gov.in. Tell a trusted adult or teacher.

"Being silent helps the bully, not you."

2

Instagram DM

3

Friend's Request

"Keep my UPI PIN for today, I'll forget it." — Do you say yes?

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act

You have the right to control your personal data — even as a student.

  • Under-18s get extra protections — many services require parental consent
  • You can ask platforms to delete content about you in many cases
  • Check app permissions — share less, not more

The less you share, the less there is to steal.
