Directed Study is designed for students who need small group instruction, tutoring, extra help, executive functioning and academic skill building support, and extended time on assignments or tests. The major objective of this class is to ensure student success in general education classes. Other objectives of this support lab are to spend time working on IEP goals and other skills to support students’ academic success. Of course, our online class will look a bit different but our goals is the same.

El estudio dirigido está diseñado para estudiantes que necesitan instrucción en grupos pequeños, tutoría, ayuda adicional, funcionamiento ejecutivo y apoyo para el desarrollo de habilidades académicas, y tiempo adicional en tareas o exámenes. **** PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE SEPARATE ASSIGNMENTS FOR STUDENTS TO WORK IN A DIRECTED STUDY DURING DISTANCE LEARNING. THIS IS TO PROMOTE SKILL DEVELOPMENT, WORK ON IEP ACADEMIC GOALS, AND STUDENT INVOLVEMENT.

**** TENGA EN CUENTA QUE HABRÁ ASIGNACIONES SEPARADAS PARA QUE LOS ESTUDIANTES TRABAJEN EN UN ESTUDIO DIRIGIDO DURANTE EL APRENDIZAJE A DISTANCIA. ESTO ES PARA PROMOVER EL DESARROLLO DE HABILIDADES, TRABAJAR EN LAS METAS ACADÉMICAS DEL IEP Y LA PARTICIPACIÓN DE LOS ESTUDIANTES.
Students will not only work on their work from their other classes, but they will also focus on study skills.
I will also be in constant contact with your student’s teachers to guide your student on work completion, tests, and projects. We will check in with each student at the end of the week to determine what progress has been made on the missing assignments.
On collaborative Wednesdays students will spend time working on their own IEP goals. Due to this activity, students may not have time to complete work from their other classes on collaborative Wednesdays in order to ensure there is adequate time to work on IEP goals. Students who refuse to work on IEP goals or other teacher-assigned skill-building may not receive full credit for the day.
Please make sure your student does not depend on Directed Study as their only time to do homework, study for tests, etc. It will take more time to complete all the reading, assignments and activities than our time in directed study allows.
Los estudiantes no solo trabajarán en su trabajo de sus otras clases, sino que también se enfocarán en las habilidades de estudio.
También estaré en contacto constante con los maestros de su estudiante para guiarlo en la finalización del trabajo, las pruebas y los proyectos. Nos comunicaremos con cada estudiante al final de la semana para determinar qué progreso se ha hecho en las asignaciones faltantes.

Por favor asegúrese de que su estudiante no dependa del Estudio Dirigido como su único tiempo para hacer la tarea, estudiar para los exámenes, etc. Tomará más tiempo completar todas las lecturas, asignaciones y actividades que lo que permite nuestro tiempo en el estudio dirigido.
