Definitions.

  • Passive: Avoiding expressing needs or opinions; often leads to resentment.

  • Aggressive Communication :

Expressing needs in a forceful, disrespectful way.

  • Assertive Communication:

Clearly and respectfully stating needs or opinions.

Task: Identify the communication style

1) "Jamie agrees to help a friend with a project even though they are already overwhelmed with their own work. Jamie says, 'It's fine, I guess I can manage.’”

2) "Taylor shouts, 'You never listen to me! You're always doing this!' when someone disagrees with them."

3) "Riley says, 'I understand you’re upset, but I need some time to calm down before we continue this conversation.’
