Here’s what we are working on!

Letterland

Unit 10: More Long Vowel Teams: ai, ay, oa, and ow

In these vowel teams the first vowel says it name, the second vowel is silent. “Ai” and “aa” are found in the middle of the syllable and “ay” and “ow” are typically at the end of the syllable.

Examples of this week’s words:

When practicing Letterland with your child, please focus on practicing the skill, not memorizing the words. All words on each list will follow the weekly pattern. Have your student read and re-read his/her spelling list for fluency.

Reading

We are continuing with Unit 1 of Module 2. In this unit, students will learn about fossils (the remains or traces of a living animal or plant from a long time ago). They will learn about fossils through narratives about paleontologists. They will also learn about how narratives are structured.

Math

Students will use addition to find the total number of objects arranged in a rectangular array with up to 5 rows and 5 columns and write an equation to express the total as a sum of equal addends.

Science

We are exploring the relationship between sound and vibrations.

Positivity Project
