Here are the words to study with your child for their vocabulary quiz on Friday, August 29.

OUR Learning snapshot:
READING: Students will identify themes, the best summary with text evidence, discuss how a character changes, and use context clues to understand figurative language and the author’s point of view.
LANGUAGE ARTS: Students will continue working on their personal narratives making sure to include transition words and a good ending. They will also name the parts of a complete sentence and identify a fragment versus a run-on sentence.
MATH: Students will read and write whole numbers through the millions period in word, standard, and equations in expanded form. They will also compare and order numbers with the use of the symbols <, > and =. They will use estimation and rounding on number lines. Their unit 2 test will be on Friday, August 29. Study guide
SCIENCE: Students will use the Engineering Design Process and Scientific Method to take a unit assessment on Tuesday, August 26. Study guide
SOCIAL STUDIES: Students will also explain the effects of mercantilism and triangular trade on Native Americans, enslaved Africans, and European colonists.
