Human Rights Day Celebration in the Philippines
A Community Outreach
In celebration of International Human Rights Day 2023, led by our Human Rights Team, we conducted human rights awareness activities such as poster-making contests, poster exhibitions, sharing ideas about human rights, and community merienda. We also distributed postcards with the translated version of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Information
about human rights is inaccessible to people
who need to know about them the most
Community Immersion
While Wikipedia is always available and contributors continuously collaborate on improving content on human rights, the community we are in lacks awareness of this matter.
To address this, our group decided to work in the field, communicate directly with individuals, and invite them to learn about their human rights.

Community Merienda
a matter of culture and tradition
For Filipinos, merienda is more than just sustenance. In these meals, people pause and reconnect with each other.
With this strategy, we were able to build trust among our community and collect significant information we needed for our future campaigns.
Activities
Poster making contest
and exhibition
We held a poster making contest. The students were asked to convey any of the rights identified in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The artworks were displayed during the exhibition to express their insights about
human rights.
Activities
Distribution of educational materials
Postcards with the translated version of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights were distributed among the participants. We also promoted our learning hub to the community.
Activities
