Required Elements

According to the U.S. Department of Education:

LEAs that receive ARP ESSER funds meet the requirements in section 2001(i) of the ARP Act and the requirements relating to the ARP ESSER funds published in the Federal Register to either:

  1. Within 30 days of receipt of the funds, develop and make publicly available on the LEA’s website a plan for the safe return to in-person instruction and continuity of services, or
  2. Have developed and made publicly available on the LEA’s website such a plan that meets statutory requirements before the enactment of the ARP Act.

Start of School Year�Assumptions

  1. Students will attend classes in-person five (5) days per week.
  2. All students will have access to a Chromebook that can be used in the classroom and outside the school day.
  3. The district will continue to take into consideration the most recent COVID-19 health and safety orders, recommendations, protocols, and guidelines for students and staff from:

Addressing Student Academic Needs

  • Summer 2023 included expanded learning opportunities for all students K-12, put in place in 2022
  • K-6 buildings benefitted from an expanded partnership with the YMCA of Central Ohio to add a social support adult in each building
  • Students in grades 7-12 have 24/7 access to online tutoring with an accredited provider
  • Each building has access to funds to support extended learning opportunities for students
  • 37 planned positions to be added to support learning loss and student needs

  • 9 Intervention Specialists (district was unsuccessful in filling these positions in FY23)
  • 3 Elementary School Counselors
  • 6 Elementary Student Support Liaisons
  • 5 Middle Student Support Liaisons
  • 14 Social Workers

Addressing Student and Staff Needs�

  • Surveys and feedback will continue to be utilized to determine and plan for student/staff needs.
  • Hired additional counselors at the elementary school level.
  • Hired additional social workers and student support liaisons.
  • Continued expansion of Prime for Life programming.
  • Offer summer professional development for staff members.
  • Purchase of additional materials and online resources to support learning loss.

District will continue to facilitate quantitative feedback from stakeholders regarding how to meet the evolving needs of students and staff

Technology

  • All students will have access to a Chromebook that can be used in the classroom and outside the school day.
  • There will be a consistent, established process for the repair and maintenance or replacement of student Chromebooks.
  • Hot Spots will be made available upon request.

Review & Revisions

  • This plan will be reviewed every six months through September 30, 2024, by a team comprised of district personnel and stakeholders.
  • Revisions will be made to the plan as needed.
