VSA/VSBA STATEMENT

Local leaders must rework defeated school budgets in an effort to find cost savings while meeting their obligations to school communities and, most significantly, the children and families they serve.  

State leaders must work in genuine and insightful ways to understand the deep complexity of these challenges and commit to serious, meaningful actions to address them. There should be no rush to judgment and no quest for hasty, simple solutions.

Now is a time for local and state leaders to work together to support a strong public education system that serves all students well and is responsible to taxpayers.
