  2. Attract, retain, and grow a world-class team (you!)
  3. Set context for working on the right problems

If I do something that negatively impacts any of these, please let me know ASAP

Other responsibilities:

  • Ensure we are operating efficiently
  • Make the team successful

My management philosophy 📚⚖

Overall: I want you to be as successful as possible and grow into a leader

  1. Set the context for how you think about problems
    1. You should have no issue understanding your priority and focus over the next month or quarter
  2. Guide perspective in decision making, not be prescriptive
    • My job is to empower you, not to micromanage
  3. Try to be as helpful as possible and unblock you
    • Ensure you have the resources and relationships to be effective
  4. Challenge your thinking
  5. Push you to do more
  6. Get out of your way to let you operate
  7. Be available as a thought partner

How I operate 👷

Structured cadence:

  1. Weekly 1:1’s - talk about how things are going and ongoing projects. Your time.
  2. Monthly 1:1’s - talk about your growth and career at Rev
    1. Start these after you have time to get your legs under you

Unstructured cadence:

  1. Ping me on Slack whenever you want and I will get back to you ASAP. Never be afraid to do this.
  2. Grab me whenever you want. Very few things are more important than talking to you if you want to chat. If you need to talk or show me something, let’s talk.

Key questions I will ask a lot❓

  1. How can I help?
  2. What are your bottlenecks?
  3. Is there anything slowing you down?
  4. How can I help you move faster?
  5. What is the next thing you are working on? Why?
  6. How will we measure success?
  7. Can we do it faster?

Feedback ⥀

“Feedback is a gift”

All feedback is given with the intent of helping you grow.

I believe in feedback early and often. I do not wait for performance reviews.

If I see an area of improvement, I will let you know.

I ask for the same treatment.

That being said, I want you to be happy and will never berate you on small details.
