First Equation of Motion

  • The Uniform acceleration “a” of the car can be given as
  • Suppose a car is moving with an initial velocity “Vi”, after some time “t” its velocity becomes the final velocity “Vf”.

  • Vf= Vi+at
  • First equation of motion is used to calculate final Velocity of any object.

Second Equation of Motion

  • When we are asked to find/ calculate the distance covered by the object after time interval t, while initial velocity of the body is given the second equation of the motion is used.
  • As we know that the average velocity of the body can be given as;

  • From 1st equation of motion, we have:

Vf= Vi + at

Second Equation of Motion

  • As we know:
  • S= v*t and v= s/t

Third Equation of Motion

Relation ship between velocity and distance when time is not given.

Third Equation of Motion

  • Third equation of motion can be derived using 1st equation and 2nd equation of motion.
  • From 1st equation of motion, we have;
  • Vf = Vi + at
  • Taking square on both sides
  • (Vf )^2= (Vi + at)^2
  • (a+b)^2= a^2 +2ab+b^2

  • From 2nd equation of motion, we have;

  • Substitute above in eq. (i)

  • This is third equation of motion.
