Thursday 28th May
Collaborative lesson
Today, you will work with your normal Literacy group.
Tomorrow, you will use the information created on today’s shared slide to work individually on your task. You will use your own character and at least one other tomorrow.
In your Literacy teams:
Share your character descriptions with each other. Make one new slide with all the character descriptions on. Read your character description to the group.
Your characters know each other and spend time together. Talk about these questions to build a picture of their relationship and past shared experiences:
How do they know each other?
What do they do together?
Do they know each other’s secrets?
How long have they known each other?
What shared past do they have?
Mind map using these questions - making links use agroup shared slides
LI: Can we work collaboratively to make connections between characters?
Create a group graphic organiser/mind map showing the links between the characters. Use the ideas from your discussion. Here is an example.
Reggie and Jeremy have never met before this Extravaganza night at the mansion. However, they have a mutual friend (Oswald Owl). Reggie is laid back and likes spending time by himself. He is known for this poor time keeping.
Francois Frog and Jeremy Jaguar go back years; in fact they met at kindergarten at the tender age of three years. Their shared love of swimming and lazing in the hot sun led to annual holidays together.
Oswald Owl is a new friend of Francois. They met at the theatre at the premiere of the latest musical “ Fly Away”. They hope to attend theatrical productions together in the future.
Over the years, Oswald Owl and Francois Frog have had many adventures together. They cause mischief wherever they go. Outgoing and social animals, they both like to tell tales and funny anecdotes. They are the ‘life and soul’ of the party.
