Dried Plums or Prunes?

In 2001, prunes changed their name to dried plums hoping people would try the fruit.

In 2019, dried plums changed their name back to prunes! Embracing the name and celebrating the fruit that many love!

Dried plums are rich in vitamins and minerals that help your brain and muscles stay healthy!

How do dried plums grow?

Fresh plums that turn into prunes grow best in the the hot weather of summer.

At the end of summer, they are mechanically harvested and dried.

They are then packed and shipped all over the world!

How can I eat more dried plums?

Dried Plum Pinwheels

Ingredients

  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • ¼ cup cream cheese
  • ½ cup dried plums (finely chopped)
  • 4 thin slices of deli ham or turkey

Directions

  1. Spread 2 Tablespoons of cream cheese on each tortilla.
  2. Top with 2 slices of deli meat and ¼ cup of prunes.
  3. Roll up and slice into 8 pieces.
