Anson’s Care Club

The Rainbow Room has been specifically designed to support all our pupils providing a special space for calm and reflection. However it is also an ideal space for our newly formed Care Club.

Care Club started at the beginning of the new term and since then we have welcomed lots of children and had plenty of fun. We’ve played games, been creative with the art and craft materials , built Lego habitats and made jelly to eat at snack time.

During the breakfast session, the children have a selection of cereals to choose from along with crumpets, toast or pancakes. At the after school session there will be a variety of snacks such as wraps, sandwiches, crumpets, pancakes and yogurt.

Fruit and drinks will be available at all times.

If you would like more information about the club please speak to the school office.

Anson Church of England Primary School - Gold History Mark

It is with the greatest pleasure to let you know that St Mary’s CE Primary, Richard Crosse CE Primary, The Howard Primary and Anson CE Primary has been awarded a gold Quality Mark by the Historical Association.

Congratulations to Anson and all their sister schools. The assessor very much enjoyed their visits and agrees that each school have met the criteria for a gold award.

Huge congratulations to Mrs Hayward - Anson History Lead - the teaching team and the children who spoke with such passion about History!

‘A representative group of pupils clearly all enjoyed history and could express clear views about its value. Some recognised that history does not only teach us about mistakes but can also inspire. They were also able to consider how people felt living through historical times such as the experiences of evacuees. The comparison with Ukraine was made. They could recall many topics covered and when

asked what would they most like to be an eyewitness to, they drew both on topics covered in the recent past and in a couple of cases to topics they knew about but had not covered. A strong feature

of this group’s discussion was their understanding that history was about people and their significance and there was an interesting discussion as to why Tutankhamun was significant when he died died so young.’
