This is a Venn diagram. It shows a comparison between two things. Comparisons tell us how things are different and how they are the same. This Venn diagram shows a comparison between Morgan’s family tradition and her classmate, Tasha’s, family tradition. First, they talked to each other about their traditions. Then they looked for things that were the same and things that were different. Each of them wrote their name above one of the circles and their tradition inside of the circles. Notice how Morgan and Tasha wrote things that are different about their traditions inside each of their circles. What is one thing that is only part of Morgan’s family tradition? [PAUSE] Morgan wrote things both traditions have in common in the center section where the circles come together. What is something both traditions have in common?
