Read about the late assignment/test and work resubmission policy for this semester HERE.

Semester 1 and Full Year Late Assignments and Retests School-wide Deadline 4pm Jan 7th 2026

For Semester 1 and full year courses, the latest date teachers will accept work or tests, retests etc assigned before January 7th is January 7th. Any re-submissions, retests or late assignments etc that teachers did not already set earlier final deadlines for in their classroom must now be completed and handed in by 4pm on January 7th, 2026.

Any work or tests etc assigned by teachers from January 8th onward will be due on the date assigned by the teacher. Extensions for work/tests assigned after January 7th must be arranged in advance (not on the due date) and are at the discretion of the classroom teacher. This is to enable teachers to complete final marks, semester marks and report cards in time to meet the deadlines required to get these out to students and families.

We are instituting this policy as teachers are covering curriculum up to January 27th in all courses and we need to ensure that their workload is manageable so they can continue to cover the required outcomes with students in the days we have gained back for instruction by not holding exams. In addition it will be key for students to be focusing on the new material they are learning in the last 3 weeks of classes rather than going back to late assignments and retests from much earlier in the year.

Musician Of the Month-Everett Drozd

Everett is our Musician of the Month, recognized for his outstanding growth and dedication on the drum kit. Everett joined our music program in grade 9, and throughout his high school years, he has taken private drum lessons and attended Musicamp twice for both concert and jazz band. He has performed in every school concert and worked alongside accomplished musicians in workshops and festivals. Over the years, Everett has shown remarkable progress and continues to refine his drumming skills with enthusiasm and focus.

Beyond his performance achievements, Everett’s love for music extends to his appreciation of bands like Green Day, Weezer, and many others. In our general music class last year, he went the extra mile by suggesting a thoughtful playlist of songs for us to explore—many of which became class favorites.

Congratulations, Everett, on your continued growth and contributions to our music community!

SEMESTER 2 - DUAL CREDIT?

  • Dual credit programming allows high school students to earn credits simultaneously for both their high school diploma and a post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree. It does not matter if you do not plan on attending these colleges in the long run. These programs provide a "head start" on higher education, save students time and money by potentially avoiding future coursework, and allow them to explore career paths with hands-on, challenging, and meaningful learning experiences.
  • Mr. VanderLee is your source for Dual Credit experiences NEXT semester. Registration deadlines are coming soon. If you’re in Grade 11 or 12 and are interested in this option - come chat SOON!!!
  • Full list of courses available now - see Mr. Van or Mr. O
