Everyday objects can become TRACERS. This center can help you draw
a shape, create a non-representational design or make your own transformation.
Gather objects
(lids, box tops) that are fairly flat and are
geometric shapes.
If you can’t find a shape you can cut one out of cardboard.
Place an object on your paper & trace around the outside. Repeat, use the whole page & break boundaries.
You can “bump & jump” to make shapes look in front or behind one another. Now add color!
You can also make your own Transformations.
Trace 1 or 2 shapes on your paper. Don’t center the shape and try some unexpected pairs of shapes.
Brainstorm something those shapes might become. Turn the paper in different directions before you start.
Transform the shapes! Add a background or add color
Choose one phrase from each column.
Use the silly sentence to inspire a drawing!
A collection
of creative draw prompts.
