• Thematic Federations

The Council can, on the request of a Section or on its own initiative, ask one or more Sections to create a Federation for competences or spheres of activity belonging to several disciplines.

Such a Federation must be open to members of any Section wishing to participate, provided the Section in question is obviously linked to the Federation.

The daily management will be entrusted either to one of the Sections or to representatives of several Sections working in a collegiate way. Although not a Section in its own right, such Federations must follow the same UEMS rules of procedure as though they were a Section and refer all decisions to the Council.

EUROPEAN MASTER MOLECULAR PATHOLOGY (UEMS Section of Path)��

1. The official location of the master, and the theoretical and technical management is performed by the University Cote d’Azur, Nice, France.

​

• Before July 2025, I as director of the Master will apply for CESMA accreditation for the MSc EMMP examinations, following the CESMA accreditation process.

​

• Successful accreditation will be based on CESMA's approval of the purpose, validity, reliability, value and integrity of all the evaluations students must complete and pass in order to graduate from the master.

​

• University Côte d’Azur will issue the Institutional Diploma for the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, signed by the President of the University Côte d’Azur.

FASSINA ’s NOTE:

the final exam of the EMMP will be carried out by Master’s MEMBERS,  along with CESMA APPRAISERS and the applicants only (EMMP students) will not be required to sit a separate UEMS CESMA examination in order to receive their UEMS diploma

The CESMA appraisal is available to all UEMS Boards & Sections who run  exams , or for an external exam that is either aligned with or endorsed by a UEMS Board / section / thematic federation or MJC, whereas I am afraid that you affirm the contrary when saying that “UEMS ORL Section has nothing to do with the European exam in ORL, therefore the Section is not a CESMA member and shall not contribute financially to CESMA, which is an examination advisory body of the UEMS”.

CESMA does not appraise any other exams outside of this.

Your group must be a member/ delegate  of UEMS CESMA and whilst physical representation at meetings is not mandatory , it’s often a good learning curve

Goals to achieve

1. Unify CESMA and ECAMSQ as UEMS body as EACCME
2. Get a permanent secretarial support
3. Becoming CESMA a structural UEMS body, all Sections wishing to organise an European Exam will have the mandatory obligation to adhere and to finance it.
