  • Getting Set up
  • Go to screencastify.com in Chrome browser
  • “Add to chrome”
  • Click the Pink Arrow Shortcut that appears in the top right of your screen
  • Create an account (sign in with google)
  • Watch the intro videos HERE to get started!

2) Screencast Browser

  • Allows you to record what is open in your (Chrome) browser tab
  • Pro: reduces visual clutter of other apps or tabs open
  • Cons: Limits you to only in browser sharing (ie: no images, other applications etc)

2,3,4) ScreenCast Browser, Desktop, Embed Webcam

3) Screencast Desktop

  • Allows you to record your entire desktop
  • Helpful if you have images or documents or other offline applications you want to share

4) Embed Webcam Video

  • Allows you to Embed your video screen (face!) in the corner of your video
  • You can click and drag it to a different location, default is bottom right corner

*Bonus: �4a) Embed Video in Google Slides!

  • Open the google slides you want to share in your screencast in a chrome tab
  • Click the drop arrow next to “Present” and select
  • Start a webcam with Browser tab and embed webcam
  • Pro: Clean polished screencast of your slides!

5) Adjust countdown prep time

  • Click “more options”
  • Adjust your countdown:
    • 3,5, or 10 seconds!
  • Hooray!

6) Drawing Tools

  • Click “more options”
  • Select “show drawing tools” (tools appear bottom left of your screen by default)
  • Allows you to draw or write on the screen while screencasting if desired
    • Cursor options: spotlight!
    • Pen (change color, draw etc)
    • Eraser

7) “Hide” Screencastify Bar

  • When you start a screencast, by default this bar pops up along the bottom of your screen
  • Click “hide” to remove that bar from your recording
  • (Doesn’t affect your screen cast but it’s a nice option to clean up and remove it)

8) Trimming clips

  • When reviewing your video, simply drag the scissors icon at the beginning and end to cut out unwanted sections from your video
  • So fast and easy!

9) Screencastify Editor

  • Click “Open in editor”
  • Trim, Crop or add Text
  • Add clips! (Combine two videos!)
  • Save in Google Drive when finished

  • Automatically saves videos into google drive (amazing!!)
  • Share Drive link
    • (default anyone with link can view)

    • Share to Google Classroom
