WALT add and subtract using place value partitioning

Term 1 week 2

2 of 13

Before you start… read this!!

When we place value partition (PVP) we are breaking numbers into ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, and so on!!

So, if I asked you what 320+430=

You would first add the ones 0+0= 0 , then the tens 20 + 30= 50, then the hundreds, 300 + 400 = 700!

So, 700 + 50 + 0= 750

Easy! Your turn to try :)
