IONOSPHERIC MONITORING DEVICE
Valtera team
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
Design a controlled device for studying the ionosphere by the method of reflection of radio waves from its certain layers.
ISSUES
The ionosphere protects the Earth from radiation from outer space. By studying the state of the ionosphere, it is possible to predict the influence of man on nature, as well as to study the influence of the solar wind on the Earth's ionosphere.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE IONOSPHERE
The ionosphere, in a general sense, is the upper layer of the planet's atmosphere with a high concentration of free ions and electrons, ionized by ultraviolet and X-ray radiation, as well as cosmic rays.
The ionosphere is divided into regions D, E and F, which bifurcates into two layers F1 and F2.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE STRUCTURE OF THE IONOSPHERE
Regions of the ionosphere | Height from the ground | The concentration of charged particles | Reflecting waves | What time of day can you determine |
D | 60-90 km | ~ 10^2—10^3 cm-³ | Myriatetr, kilometer and partially hectometric | Day |
E | 90-120 km | ~ 10^5 cm-³ | Decameter (night), hectometric | 24/7 |
F1 | 130-140 km | ~ 10^6 cm-³ | Decameter and long meters | Day |
F2 | 130-140 km | ~ 10^6 cm-³ | Decameter and long meters | 24/7 |
