Highlights of the Project

Let’s Connect Across Zones in Nigeria 2025 is a peer learning initiative that empowers Wikimedia organizers across Nigeria to share knowledge, build skills, and strengthen their communities through regionally inclusive training and support.

Key Highlights:

  • Expanded Reach: Participants were from 10 states across 5 geopolitical zones, moving beyond Kwara State to include states like Abuja, Gombe, Anambra, and Rivers.

  • Participant-Led Sessions: Participants led 16 self-paced sessions, teaching practical on-wiki and off-wiki skills in their own communities.

  • Online Learning Clinics: Two nationwide clinics in March and July 2025 focus on peer support.

  • Localized, Practical Skills: Skills taught include blog writing for Diff, project management, and community building, designed to meet real needs.

  • Flexible, Inclusive Approach: Lessons from past phases shaped a more responsive format, meeting people where they are, even with limited tech access.
