Mock Trial

Club Blurb: A mock trial is, in short, a simulated criminal trial. Students play the roles of witnesses, attorneys, clerks, and bailiffs to develop a criminal case and try it in court. Mock Trial is an incredible opportunity to learn about the law, how the criminal justice system works, and improve one’s public speaking and problem solving skills.

Meeting Times and Location: 3-4 pm weekly in 92A. Day is to be determined. The first meeting will be the last week in August or first week of September.

Model United Nations

Club Blurb: Model United Nations is a nationally and internationally recognized extracurricular activity at high schools and colleges around the world. MUN teams from around Colorado meet monthly in simulations of an actual United Nations conference, where students are tasked with solving a global issue through research, speech, collaboration and debate to pass a suitable 'resolution’ that will address the global concern and appeal to the nations as a whole.

MUN is not just an amazing club, it’s a team, and our competition is diplomacy. Students are assigned countries to represent, and their job is to express their countries’ beliefs in committee sessions in order to pass favorable resolutions. Students with skills in negotiating, public speaking, diplomacy, and resolution or position paper writing are those who receive awards.
