If I were father, I would try to be interested in what my son/daughter likes.
So, if you explain to your child the why of things, he/she will better understand how our world functions, and know what are the consequences of our actions.

If you don't respect your children's hobbies, they will very difficult to have a good relationship with them...
If you have free time, take advantage of the time with your children because later you will miss them.
