  • Edgar Magana has been elected Chair of the User Committee
  • Two members of the User Committee were elected by vote of the Active User Contributors (“AUC”) – None of the five members (3 appointed + 2 elected) are employed by the same company or organization. Election will continue in August for the remaining 3 seats previously appointed.

User Committee (UC) - Mission

  • The User Committee’s (UC) mission is to serve the user community of OpenStack, representing them to the broader community (including the Board of Directors, Technical Committee, Projects and PTLs, and projects outside OpenStack)
  • The User Committee recognizes competence and contribution, and when necessary resolves disputes in accordance with the OpenStack Code of Conduct.
  • Work with the user groups worldwide to keep the OpenStack community vibrant and informed.
  • Track OpenStack deployments and usage, helping to share user stories and experiences (User Survey).
  • Provides guidance for the development teams where user’s feedback is provided.

To improve the developer experience of API users by converging the OpenStack API to a consistent and pragmatic RESTful design.

To aggregate user stories from market-oriented work groups, partner with the development community on resources, and help gather data to generate a multi-release roadmap.

The Scientific Working Group is dedicated to representing and advancing the use-cases and needs of research and high-performance computing atop OpenStack.

A team to define tags for ops, allowing users to make better decisions by providing useful information about OpenStack software projects.

Action plans to solve Enterprise Private Cloud needs and issues.

To discuss the needs and issues of those running large OpenStack deployments

Operators Telecom and NFV Team will work with the OpenStack community and ecosystem to benefit OpenStack Operators specifically running telecommunication services and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) systems utilizing OpenStack.

This working group will sponsor and create programs that encourage diversity by identifying and removing the barriers that keep us from having a diverse, thriving community.

Aims to collaborate with other WGs and community-wide stakeholders to define the use cases, identify and prioritize the requirements which are needed to deploy, manage, and run services on top of OpenStack.
