Husky Rugby 2025-2026

“No Head Coach wants to end his tenure on such a monumental losing record.

With a large senior class, and nine 1st and 2nd year players on scholarship, prospects were good. Early injuries to key players and captains, without enough experienced depth to weather it, put us on a very challenging trajectory.

Losses in our exhibition matches were expected with 4 D1A opponents between Fall and Winter quarters, but the in-conference losses were unexpected. Many were close, some got away from us.

  • Faced four D1A opponents

  • 9 players on scholarship
  • Rugby tour to California

  • Strong 1st and 2nd year classes

Season Stats

1st XV: 1W-13LRecord

2nd XV: 8W-2LRecord

The win-loss record for our 2nd XV is promising, with growing depth and experience.

Our scholarshipped players have been injured on average for over half of our season, so we have never seen them all on the field together. I expect that the next head coach will build the program around these players who will be entering years 2 and 3.

As Director of Rugby, I will work with the Head Coach on recruitment for the following year.”
