Here is a brief overview of the early game in the run. It consists of beating the ‘tutorial’, then gathering resources to beat the rest of game.

The next slides go into much more depth into the routing.

Spin attack chip

Spin charge chip

4 of 89

At the start of the run, you can either leave the facility with or without the syringe.Going without the syringe saves only a few seconds, however it means you have to go without healing for the rest of the run.I recommend grabbing it until you are comfortable.

5 of 89

Continue through the facility until you reach the elevator. The code is always 1995.

6 of 89

Speak with iris to obtain the War axe. Make sure to equip it and continue to the left.

As you explore, know that if you double tap your sprint bind alma will immediately recharge all her stamina!

7 of 89

Climb up the vines to the area with the 2 rocks. Break the first rock (circled in red), then in quick succession break the second rock (in blue) before you pick up the iron from the first rock.

Note: What items drop from the rocks depend on what items you already have in your inventory. Hence, by breaking both rocks before picking up any items, both will drop the same item, but if you collect the iron from the first rock then break the second, you will get a wire instead, which will affect all other items from rocks for the rest of the run.

If done correctly, iron should drop from both rocks. Move up to the next room

8 of 89

Interact with the terminal and equip the strength chip. Break the boxes circled in orange. Head upwards.

9 of 89

Note about these boxes

Throughout the early game, our main goal is to gather resources so that we can craft all the gear we need to beat the game. One of the many items we need is Metal scrap. Metal scrap has a 3/8 chance of dropping when breaking these types of boxes, hence we break many of them in the early game. You only need to collect 4 or 5 metal scrap from boxes to be able to craft everything, but the chance of dropping is low enough that we need to break many. All future boxes which are highlighted in orange are boxes that I like to break during my runs, however the boxes you break are optional as long as you get enough scrap.

10 of 89

In this room, kill the bot on the left, then the one on the right. The second bot killed should drop a wire.

Continue to the top right of the room

11 of 89

In this next room, we use a death skip to cross the gap which is shown on the next slide.

12 of 89

Firstly, have Alma hug the stop sign for a brief moment as shown on the left image, then quickly jump off the ledge. This will cause Alma to respawn on top of the sign, allowing her to jump across the gap with a jump attack.

Hugging

In action

13 of 89

Note about this room: The area Alma is shown below is a cutscene trigger. To avoid this cutscene, an enemy (normally the circled spider) can be kept on screen, however this makes it difficult to perform the death skip as they will starting attacking you if you don’t get it first try. I recommend just killing the spiders and skipping through the cutscene until you are very comfortable with the death skip.

14 of 89

Move to the top of the room to cause shadow beasts to spawn. Killing them is necessary, as doing so gives us the flameblade so be sure to not die here. When fighting the first shadow beast, parry 3 times then perform a jump attack. Repeat to kill it.When fighting the second shadow beast, parry 3 times then use a spin attack to finish it in one hit.

This is shown on the next slide

Try to break the boxes between the beasts spawning/after killing them, though remember this isn't necessary if you are lucky later on.

16 of 89

Go down the elevator. Speak with Vana, then leave to enter the general store.

Speak with Ana to open the shop menu

17 of 89

Shopping list!!

You should have just about exactly enough to purchase these. If you think you don’t for whatever reason, buy the metal scrap last as they can be collected randomly throughout the run

Afterwards, leave the store and move to the crafting table.

18 of 89

Time to craft a SPINNER.The spinner will be our main movement method throughout the run, due to its high speed and its ability to move over water!

To use the spinner over water, we need to use a trick called water skipping. To perform a water skip, simply press your attack bind just as you hit a body of water to bounce, rinse and repeat! I would highly recommend practicing this trick as it can be very difficult to get the timing down! (You cannot spam)

Note: that you should get on the spinner before beginning to water skip over a surface. Although it is possible to begin water skipping without this, it is much harder to get the timing of the first skip down!

19 of 89

Now head to the right. Utilise water skipping to break the rock shown for an iron

20 of 89

Make sure to break both rocks at the same time!!!! to get 2 sprockets.

21 of 89

Break both rocks at the same time!!! to collect 2 wires. Enter the cave

22 of 89

Activate the terminal, then craft 2 grappling hooks. Make sure to equip the flame blade and double hookshot and leave. Leave the area to the left

23 of 89

Activate the switch and water skip over the lake.

In this next section, we use a death skip to get onto the moveable box, then just grapple to the switch. Watch out for the enemies which are not shown in this clip. I recommend to kill the enemies until you get this trick down.

Collect the spin charge chip in the chest then move over to the left

24 of 89

In this room, we need to break the rock on the top, then in quick succession (before grabbing the item from the first rock) break the rock on the bottom. Doing so should give you 2 sprockets.

Leave the room to the north

25 of 89

In this next area, we need to leave to the east, however, going too high in the room (area marked in blue) will cause an enemy swarm to spawn, blocking the exit. To avoid this, attack to the left when using the spinner for instant turning as shown in the GIF below.

Afterwards, we need to enter the tunnel above, however this room has another cutscene trigger. To avoid the cutscene, attack with the spinner with similar timing to water skipping to enter the tunnel as shown in the gif

26 of 89

In the next room, we need to collect Raquel’s axe. The fastest way to do this is using the grapple hook to get close to all the enemies, parry all their attacks, then spin attack the beast.

Additionally, make sure to kill one of the basic enemies as they will drop an engine oil which is needed for future crafting.

The video on this slide shows this.

Note that in the clip after parrying all the attacks, I kill the basic enemy but hold down the attack button to charge a spin attack, then jump towards the beast while charging to allow for a fast kill

27 of 89

Leave the tunnel and move left

Continue left until you reach the vines. Climb up.

28 of 89

Parkour over to the jumper chip and collect it (You must use a jump attack on the blue arrow) and leave the room to the left

Use the spinner to break the tall block and go to the crater tower.

29 of 89

Make sure you activate the terminal by colliding with it with the spinner.

30 of 89

Grapple across the green line and continue left.

Grapple across the green line and collect the Spin attack chip in the chest. (you can use your hookshot to hit the lever and dash attack onto the platform to go back up, then hook again straight to the chest)Continue to the top left.

31 of 89

In this room, use the spinner to break the tall stone block, then use the spinner to break all 3 rocks in quick succession to obtain 3 iron as shown in the gif. Continue left.

32 of 89

Use the grapple to continue left and enter the factory. There are many enemies in this room, so feel free to jump off the spinner for some sections.

Interact with the terminal, buy 1 chip slot and equip the spin attack chip. Teleport to the north cave terminal

33 of 89

Exit the cave to the south and speak with the travelling merchant. Buy as many metal scrap as you can (this should be around 11) and re-enter the cave

Head to the crafting table

34 of 89

Crafting session!

And that marks the end of the gather phase! If you don’t have enough scrap to craft 3 attack cogs, don’t worry, as you can craft some in the later portions of the run. Time to start work on the bosses!

35 of 89

Brief overview of Asana. It's not very long, so let's get to it!

Telehook

Asana boss fight

36 of 89

Time for our first telehook!Telehooks are a trick which we will be utilising a lot during the run as it allows us to teleport through walls.

To perform a telehook, do a basic attack then perform a hookshot during the recovery. As you are grappling, hold down the attack bind to charge a spin attack. This will cause Alma to rapidly spam the hookshot while charging a spin attack.Repeatedly grapple into the wall as shown until your spin attack is charged, then aim for the terminal (make sure to aim swiftly as your hookshot is still being spammed). While Alma is travelling towards the terminal, release the spin attack and aim to the right swiftly (as shown in the clip).

Exit to the right.

More details on the intricacies of telehooks can be found in this document.

UNSIGHTED - Telehooks By Symph - Google Docs

37 of 89

Utilise water skipping to cross the water, the use the flameblade to burn the vines.

Use the flameblade to light the torches. You can light them in any order, but I prefer to light them as shown, using the grapple to get between 2&3 to allow stamina to recharge. Jump down for the first boss

38 of 89

Asana - First boss

A video of this fight is on the next slide.

Use the flameblade to burn Asana open. Equip Raquel’s axe & the shotgun. Make sure to activate an attack cog.

Just as Asana exits her ‘cocoon’, perform a basic attack into a charge attack to hit her during the cutscene. After she screams, use the shotgun while moving away from her to one of the bottom corners (I go right in the video in the next slide) and reload it. Parry her attack and use a spin attack to enter phase 2.Charge another spin attack on top of the heads and unleash it just as she splits to deal big damage to all the heads. If your positioning is optimal, two of the heads will stack as shown in the video; perform a basic attack on the stacked heads and use the shotgun to finish them off, then basic attack the last head.

Disclaimer: Boss fights in this game can be very difficult! Don’t worry if you don’t follow these instructions exactly, just try to kill the boss as fast as possible without getting hit!

39 of 89

Something to remember during boss fights is Unsighted’s ‘combo’ mechanic. As you perform hits or parry, your combo meter goes up and provides a damage multiplier shown on the left side of the screen. Managing the combo meter is very important during the boss fights, and is also one of the reasons the shotgun is so powerful (it allows for a fast, non-stamina consuming way to gain combo).Remember that getting hit reduces your combo, so make sure that you don’t get hit by all means!

43 of 89

This street is hell incarnate. Try to reach the top while avoiding the enemies as fast as possible.

Utilise water skipping to go around the gate (watch out for the enemies!)

44 of 89

Optional: Green pathThis path lets us get the risk chip which lets us deal extra damage while on critical hp. This can be used during the final boss fight for a much faster kill HOWEVER it means you must do the final boss & boss rush on one hp. Because of this, I recommend just skipping this chip until you are very comfortable with the final boss(es) in this game. Details on how to grab the chip are on the next slide.Otherwise, just leave the room to the top right using water skipping (Purple path).

45 of 89

Risk chip - skip this slide if not grabbing

To grab the risk chip, go to the right and perform a neutral hop off of the spinner (jump while not pressing any directional buttons) next to the rock to jump on top of it (make sure not to hit the rock with the spinner, as this will break the rock). Then grapple to the pillars and trees as shown to grab the chip, then water skip to the top right

If you break the rock, hug the rock below the chest and death skip onto it, then just simply jump to the chest as shown →

46 of 89

Use a neutral jump get onto the pillar (When using the spinner, jump while pressing no directional buttons for a jump with increased height), then use water skipping to reach the elevator

Use your hookshot to hit the switches and enter the Maria arena

47 of 89

Maria fight

A video of the fight is on the next slide. After activating both switches, make sure you equip Raquel’s axe and shotgun & activate your attack cogs. Start by using the spinner to destroy Maria’s ice. After destroying the ice, there is a brief window where you can jump off the spinner then input & hold attack, causing Alma to jump then spin attack Maria during the cutscene of her awakening.Perform a basic & spin attack, shoot 3 shotgun shots as your stamina regenerates, then basic and spin attack again (We will be tanking the first attack)Reload and shoot the shotgun while recovering from the attack. Parry the first melee kick, then attack, then parry the second (this is attack in between parries is optional, but saves a few seconds). After parrying, spin attack for the kill! (or attack once more if you didn't attack between parries)Note: This fast kill requires Maria to do her circle beam attack first. She can only do this attack when she is in range, so try to be as close as possible to her during the early stages of the fight. She does randomly move at the start of the fight, so if you get unlucky she’ll move out of range. Don’t worry if this happens to you, just try to kill her as fast as possible anyway.

Disclaimer: Boss fights in this game can be very difficult! Don’t worry if you don’t follow these instructions exactly, just try to kill the boss as fast as possible without getting hit!

Choose to keep exploring.Head left.

Use water skipping to reach the chest and collect the Max Combo chip. Grapple onto the platform and head left

51 of 89

In this room, there is an encounter which occurs once you go near the chest (Purple). To avoid it, simply stay very clear of the chest

Make sure to hit the light switch as you leave this part of the room

Travel the ziplines to the bottom left corner of the room

52 of 89

This room can be skipped using a telehook. This telehook is rather difficult, so I don’t recommend doing it in your first few runs and just take the long way round until you are comfortable.

Attack, then hook & charge while aiming for the green area. Then, after the spin attack is charged, aim for the blue area swiftly, and unleash the spin attack while aiming in the direction of the yellow arrow. This will teleport you out of bounds, so just walk back in.

53 of 89

Luna telehook

This next telehook is used to teleport into the Luna boss arena, however unlike other telehooks so far, it is very precise and requires a setup. I am linking Symph’s google doc on the telehook setup, as the explanation here is great and the setup for both controller & keyboard and mouse users are shown. (The picture on the right taken from UNSIGHTED - Telehooks By Symph - Google Docs shows the setup for pc, view the google doc for the setup for controller).

Luna boss fight

Video of the fight is on the next slide.

Make sure your attack cogs are activated, then use the spinner to destroy the glass quickly.

Do a basic attack, then another after Luna jumps away. Shoot 3 shotgun pellets, then move away from Luna while reloading to dodge her ranged attack and naturally recharge stamina.

After she targets you with the square beam, dash attack her, 3 shotgun shots & reload.Parry, attack, Parry. 3 more shotgun shots while she is downed then spin attack. Fast recharge your stamina then do one final attack.

This is, in my opinion, the hardest meteor shard boss as I have always struggled on it (it's not called impossible in my splits for no reason!). If you can’t get these instructions down perfectly, as usual just try to get a kill as fast as possible without getting hit to keep your combo up.

Also MAKE SURE YOU RETURN TO GEAR VILLAGE AFTERWARDS

Return to Gear village, then buy 2 chip slots and equip the max combo chip. Teleport to the factory.

In this next room we can use a telehook to travel quickly. Aim for the red line, attack then hookshot & charge spin attack. This will cause Alma to spam the hookshot. We want to aim for the green area, then while travelling to it, unleash the spin attack while aiming for the yellow arrow.(Notice that in the clip I purposefully miss my hookshot to put myself in a better position to aim for the green.)

If you cannot perform this telehook, walk up to the gate at the top and wall jump + jump attack to get over it. Shown above

58 of 89

Hit the switch and go back to HAILEE

Telehook time!

Attack, then hookshot & charge spin attack while aiming for the blue. After your spin attack has charged, aim for the green, then unleash the spin attack while aiming in the direction of the purple arrow!

After the telehook, get into HAILEE and go back up

59 of 89

Using HAILEE, press the button then continue to the right. Then, it’s time for (in my opinion) the hardest telehook! The goal of this telehook is to hit the switch behind the wire fence quickly. Because of this, this telehook is actually optional! If you can’t do it, simply use the hookshot to cross the lava and go around the long way.

Firstly, exit HAILEE and do not move. Aim your crosshair exactly as shown (dot above the second ‘diamond’ in the fence).

Then, attack, then hookshot & charge the spin attack. Then once its charged, unleash it while aiming in the direction of the yellow arrow.

MORE INFO ON NEXT SLIDE.

60 of 89

Notes about this telehook.

No tp back ^

Tp back

^

Sometimes when performing this trick, you will be ‘tp’d back’ to HAILEE after hitting the switch. When this happens, it's a good thing, as it saves you time otherwise spent walking. But how can you replicate it consistently? I have no idea! And that's why this telehook sucks! If you don’t get the tp back, don't feel demotivated, just walk around and continue on the run.

61 of 89

Depending on if you got tp’d back or didn’t/skipped the telehook, go to the boxes next to the button with or without HAILEE.

Kill the enemies next to the button and stand in front of the boxes to prepare for a weirdshot. Weirdshots are a bug which allow us to hookshot through walls, and we utilise it to hit the switch on the right and open the gate.First, hookshot a random wall to make sure the hookshot aim indicator is showing, then stand slightly to the left of the top box and aim roughly below the switch. When the hookshot locks in on the switch, shoot it to open up the gate and bring HAILEE into the next room to the right.

We used to use a complicated setup which is documented in this google doc below (If the setup shown won’t work for you, feel free to check the one in the doc). For more general info on weirdshots, check both the doc and the below message in the UNSIGHTED discord.

Hookshot “locking onto” the switch, allowing it to be hit through the wall.

62 of 89

Bring HAILEE to the right and obtain the CANNON upgrade.

When returning to the left, make sure not to press the button circled as it will start a cutscene

Use HAILEE cannon to break the wall, then continue upwards into the boss room

Nova boss fight

This boss is split into 2 phases. Before we start fighting the boss, activate your stamina and attack cogs & equip Raquel’s axe & shotgun, press the button on the right and head to the button on the left and stop just before you press it as shown on the left (HAILEE’s left foot should be on the white tile). Press interact to exit HAILEE. This will cause Alma to push the button, not HAILEE. This confuses the game, and allows us to be actionable during Nova’s descend cutscene. Get in HAILEE and spam them while they are! There's no real strategy with phase 1 on Nova, just get as fast a kill as possible while avoiding getting hit to maintain your combo. Note that if you run out of stamina in HAILEE, it is faster to exit HAILEE, manually recharge stamina with Alma by double tapping sprint, then getting back inside HAILEE.

For phase 2, the attack pattern is:Dash attackShotgunParry

Attack (between Parries)

ParryReload & shoot shotgunSpin attack

Note this this pattern will not kill Nova if you took damage during phase 1 and lost your combo. Also the timing of the final shotgun + spin attack is very tight, so don't worry if you miss it.

Disclaimer: Boss fights in this game can be very difficult! Don’t worry if you don’t follow these instructions exactly, just try to kill the boss as fast as possible without getting hit!

Sol boss fight

Video of the fight is on the next slide.

Make sure your attack cogs and stamina cog are activated. Before beginning the fight, jump attack and hold down the attack bind to spin attack Sol during the cutscene.

Move to the right of the enemy to parry it towards the brain, then kill it, holding down attack next to brain for a spin attack. Shoot 3 shotgun pellets then jump to a platform and reload

When you can, get back onto the main platform with a jump attack to hit the brain into a spin attack, then use the shotgun to finish it off!

This boss fight is very lenient, meaning you don't have to follow these instructions exactly to get a fast kill so feel free to freestyle.

M/Keycard overview

In this section, we craft the meteor axe, then fight M to obtain the keycard.

Optional telehook

Meteor axe

M boss room

71 of 89

In the room after the wreckage, there is an optional telehook which skips climbing the vines and pressing the switch.Start around Alma’s position, attack, then grapple & charge spin attack towards the stop sign. Then, aim the hookshot to the left (red line) then unleash your spin attack while aiming in the direction of the yellow arrow. This will send you out of bounds, so just walk back in.

72 of 89

Interact with the terminal and buy 2 chip slots.Equip the Jumper chip and Risk chip if obtained, Then teleport to Gear village.

Craft the Meteor Axe and replace Raquel’s axe with it.

Teleport to the crater tower

73 of 89

Use the spinner to get close to the circled rock, then use a neutral jump (jump without pressing a direction) to get onto the box (be careful not to destroy the rock). Then, hookshot to the platform and wall jump over to the left.

If you break the rock, then just use multiple wall jumps to get up the platform.

Use the grapple to get across the gaps and pay 1000 bolts to enter M’s room

74 of 89

M boss fight

Video of the fight is on the next slide.

Make sure your attack cogs are activated. When the fight begins, M will randomly teleport 3 times. Camp the bottom of the arena, then attack her when she teleports either bottom left or right, then prepare for her next attack.

Parry both of M’s attacks, then shotgun and spin attack to kill M.

When doing this, be careful on your stamina usage! The Meteor Axe uses so much stamina, that you MUST have full stamina to be able so spin attack! Notice in the video that I walk up to M, not sprint, to shoot my shotgun shots as sprinting would use up my stamina.

After defeating M, collect the keycard, then exit to the main menu and reselect your save to respawn at the terminal in front of the crater tower.

Disclaimer: Boss fights in this game can be very difficult! Don’t worry if you don’t follow these instructions exactly, just try to kill the boss as fast as possible without getting hit!

Crater tower overview!

No map for this one sorry :|

There are two options for this section of the game: One with and one without telehooks. There are 3 telehooks in total, 1 used to get past a gate and 2 to get around enemy arenas, however they are combined the hardest ones yet, so feel free to take the other route.

Slide 77 shows the route without telehooks, go to Slides 78-82 for the route with.

Start by entering the crater tower after save and quitting & reloading your save file after getting the keycard

Then, skip to slide 83

(The shadow beast in this picture will not actually be there)

No telehooks

Stamina cog

78 of 89

After collecting the keycard, Save and quit the game to respawn at the crater tower.

Collect the stamina cog in the chest then get ready for a Telehook!

Attack and grapple & charge spin attack while aiming for the green line. Once your spin attack is charged, grapple to the blue and unleash your spin attack while aiming to the left.

Due to the small distance between the walls, the timing for this hook is very tight, so don't worry if it takes a few tries.

Go down the ladder

79 of 89

Another telehook!Attack then grapple & charge spin attack towards the gate, then once your spin attack is charged aim/grapple to the left, then unleash the spin attack downwards.

Head downwards and to the left. If you collected the Risk chip, tank one hit from the shadow beast to be able to activate the damage boost.Enter the elevator.

80 of 89

Use the keycard to open the gate and continue

Enter the elevator

In the next room, hit the light switch, then we will be using a telehook to skip the enemy arena.

The shadow beast shown in this picture will not actually be there

81 of 89

Telehook setup

Move to the right side of the room, up until your roughly at the start of the blood splatter shown on the image to the right (DO NOT GO TOO FAR INTO THE ROOM, this will trigger an unskippable enemy encounter)

Perform the usual telehook inputs (attack, grapple, spin attack) while aiming to the right (red), which should cause you to repeatedly spam the hookshot (take care to not aim too high as to hit a wall in the room).

Then, after your spin is charged, aim for the top right corner of the bottom left wall (green), then after your grapple lands quickly aim to the top left and release (yellow).

Thank you to G-Meister for finding this setup, the old one was so much worse ;-;

82 of 89

Activate the terminal to set your spawn.

If you need to craft anymore cogs, you can use the benches to the left, otherwise it's time.

Head upwards to begin the boss rush.

83 of 89

Boss rush

Video of the fight with and without the risk chip is on the next 2 slides. The instructions below are for risk chip users.

Make sure your attack & stamina cogs are activated.

This boss fight doesn’t require perfect timing to be fast. Feel free to freestyle the boss rush and just try to kill them as fast as possible. Just make sure you finish the fight with as close to max combo as possible and this combo will transfer into the final boss

Start by jump attacking, then repeat twice more. Dodge the ranged attack, then do an attack of your own, then parry, attack, parry.

Shoot 3 shotgun pellets then spin attack. If Luna isn't killed, just keep attacking Maria until she does.

Before the next phase starts, Go to the top right.

Jump attack nova, then shoot 3 shotgun pellets. Parry, attack, parry, then spin attack for the kill!

Disclaimer: Boss fights in this game can be very difficult! Don’t worry if you don’t follow these instructions exactly, just try to kill the boss as fast as possible without getting hit!

Anima Essence boss fight

Video of the fight with and without risk chip is on the next slide.

Make sure your attack & stamina cogs are activated. When the fight begins, jump attack → spin attack. After she teleports, jump attack → spin attack again.

After this, she will start doing her circle beam attack. Keep attacking using jump attack → spin attack → recharge stamina, using both attacks to dodge the beam. (Alma cannot be hit as she is jump/spin attacking. Remember that you can also aim the spin attack to better control how Alma ‘dodges’ though the beam attacks).Assuming you have the risk chip & you carried over 3x combo from the previous fight, the fight should end here.

Otherwise, in the next phase she will start to attack you hands from the ground. Try to sneak in some jump attacks. After that phase, she will leave her ‘mech’. Parry her melee axe attacks, then spin attack for the ggs.

Disclaimer: Boss fights in this game can be very difficult! Don’t worry if you don’t follow these instructions exactly, just try to kill the boss as fast as possible without getting hit!
