  • This is important because each student’s full legal name must be listed on their high school diploma.
  • We will also check the spelling during your IGP meeting

Completing Your College Application

  • Pay attention to application deadlines. We recommend that you request transcripts & recommendations 2 weeks prior to the deadline

  • Are you completing the college’s specific application or through the Common App?

  • Letter of Recommendations should ONLY be sent if the college requests them.

  • PROOFREAD your info/essays and then get someone else to proofread for you.

Do not wait to receive your SAT or ACT scores to submit your application.

Generally, submit your application as soon as possible – NOW!

College Visits

  • 3 college visit days are allowed. Notify your teachers of the upcoming absence. You are responsible to make up any missed work.
  • Bring back a letter from the admissions counselor or admissions office of the college you visited, stating the day and time of your visit.
  • Turn that letter into Mrs. Coleman in attendance.

 

Visit the webpage of your college of interest for campus visit info and watch for any announcements or emails. Make a college visit if at all possible before deciding on a college.

Transcripts

Your transcript shows all the courses you have taken, your grades, a total GPA, and your class rank at the end of last school year.

TAKE NOTE:

  • If you took a summer class and don’t see it listed on your transcript, please contact your counselor ASAP!
  • If you were not enrolled at TRHS at the end of 2024-25 school year for ANY reason, then you may not have a TRHS transcript created yet.
  • You must request your transcript be sent to your college of choice through SchooLinks. Instructions in Google Classroom. You can use your paper copy to upload into your college applications for self reporting
  • If you took Early Classes you must also have your transcript sent from Greenville Tech. You can do this on Greenville Tech’s website at the end of the school year.

  • Greenville Tech - Students may be required to take the Accuplacer test at Greenville Tech IF they don’t qualify with multiple measures (transcript/GPA)

Senior IGP Meeting

  • Starting Sept. 10th - your school counselors will begin IGP meetings with seniors to discuss your college and/or career plans, and to help answer any related questions you may have.
  • Parents can call or email your counselor if they would like to be in the meeting.
  • These meetings can be held virtually or in person.

  • Sept 23rd- Herff Jones reps will be back on campus to take your Graduation Supply orders and/or answer your questions during lunch
  • There will not be a make-up date at school
  • If you are ordering after Sept. 23rd, you can order online at herffjones.com
  • Cords are earned and can only be worn at our ceremony if given to student by TRHS or district.

Senior Quotes: Please scan the QR code in your Google Classroom. If you submit an inappropriate quote it will be replaced.

Senior Portraits: Did you miss your senior portrait this summer? Make ups are Oct. 14th at TRHS or sign up for an in-studio time. Check out Ms. Mlay’s (theater teacher) website for more details!

CCR

College & Career Readiness

  • CCR is an initiative of the state and the district to help prepare ALL high school students to be college and/or career ready.
  • These are things you can add to resumes and college applications.
  • There are many ways to qualify for CCR:
    • ASVAB Score, AP/IB Score, WIN Score, SAT/ACT Score,

6 Credit Hours of Dual Credit, Work Based Learning, CTE Pathway

earned CCR! You will also receive a CCR Cord to wear at graduation!

Attendance/Seat Time

  • Quarter Classes (Gov/Econ & Psy/Soc):
    • 3 unexcused absences allowed
  • Semester Classes
    • 5 unexcused absences allowed
  • All absences after the allowed amount, must be excused (doctor, dentist, bereavement, etc)
  • Early College - Students will get dropped due to attendance if they are absent (or not turning in work for virtual classes) for 14 calendar days
