ATTENDANCE

  • Be on time in the morning and between classes (4 min) - Classes start at 8 am
  • Attendance is taken by periods (must be in class for 60 min to be counted present) – GOAL – 96%
  • Limit leaving early
  • Unexcused Absences > 10 days are considered excessive and could result in loss of course credit
      • Students are responsible for makeup work within 3 days of returning unless assignment due date already given.
  • Academic success is more difficult if you miss school due to all classes only being a semester in length

GRADING

  • Credit given on a semester basis
  • Semester grading periods:
      • 2 nine week terms and an exam
      • Each grading period is worth 40% and the exam is worth 20% of the semester grade
  • 10 Point Grading Scale will be used
  • GPA starts at the end of the first semester
  • Need a strong foundation to build a successful GPA

  • Physicals & Concussion paperwork must be on file in the front office prior to practice/tryouts - Free physicals - May 8th
  • Fall practices/tryouts begin July 30th

CCP Eligibility

  • Must be a Junior or Senior
  • Must have an unweighted GPA of 2.8 on high school courses for the College Transfer (CT) pathway or, if a Career and Technical Education (CTE) student, have a unweighted GPA of 2.8 or the recommendation of the high school principal or her designee.
  • Meets all existing COA admissions criteria and all course prerequisites.
  • Maintains a 2.0 GPA in college coursework after completing two courses.
